Swings and Sweet Perfume

Lisa's Point of view

We stand outside the gates of the park waiting. I look around not sure what direction he will come from when suddenly I spot Ben running around the corner clearly out of breath. His hair is sticking up but there is something cute about it making me smile 

"Hi I'm sorry I'm late" he says panting slightly

"It's ok you're fine" I tell  him "We've only just got here" He's just about caught his breath as he spots the children who are looking up at him.

He kneels down making them the focus of his attention straight away "Now then" he starts  "You must be Riley I've heard a lot about you" he said making eye contact with Riley.

"Riley say Hi to Ben, this is my friend that I told you about"

"Hi Ben high five" says Riley lifting up his hand making Ben smile who gives him the high five hes looking for.

"It's lovely to meet you" he says to him

"Have you come to play with us" Riley asks

"I certainly have I've been excited about it all morning" Ben tells him.

"Hello Princess" he says talking so gently to Ellie he smiles as she smiles at him and she hands him the toy she was carrying "Who is this then?" he asks "Dolly" says Ellie "Well hello Dolly" replies Ben putting on a funny voice causing Ellie to giggle. He is so lovely with them it warms me inside.

"Can we go and play please mummy" asked Riley

"Of course you can darling" as he makes a run for the sand pit, with Ellie toddling off to catch up

I look back at Ben and he's smiling at me "Hello you" he says  leaning forward to give me a gentle peck on the cheek

"Hello you" I say returning his peck, breathing him in, his aftershave already a familiar smell.  

"So are going to let me push you on the swings?" he asks

"Why not" I say

I jump on keeping an eye on the children playing happily. Ben comes up behind me "Hold on tight" he warns me. I feel like a child again and can't help but giggle. I can feel him grinning. He keeps close to my face as he pulls me back once more "You smell lovely" he says "What perfume are you wearing" he asks 

"Chance" I say

"Chanel" he says as I look at him impressed with his knowledge, but wait what if his wife wore it.

"One of the teachers in work wears it" he says, giving me an unsettling feeling in my stomach am I jealous "But it smells much nicer on you" he says up against my cheek and I smile my heart settling.  

"It's my favourite" I tell him

"I will have to make a note of that one" I hear him take a deep breath in "Mmmm" he whispers in my ear. I turn my face to him close enough that our noses touch both of us breathless.

"I want to swing too mummy" shouts Riley breaking the moment. as he runs towards us with Ellie not far behind

"Push me Ben" he asks

"These swings are a bit big for you darling" I say making him frown and fold his arms.

"I tell you what Riley if you and Ellie sit on my knee Mummy can push us how's that" Ben suggests

"Really" says Riley recovering from his sulk. "Yeah that's super cool" Riley says making me smile

"Is that alright sweetheart" he asks. I've never heard him say sweetheart and it makes me go weak
