Like Father like Son

We come to a little village just outside York, it's like something you see on a postcard, we pass through and come to a farmhouse it's picture perfect it really is. "Here we are" says Ben 

"Oh Ben it's beautiful" I tell him 

"Wow" says Riley fascinated 

"bock bock mummy" says Ellie as she spots some chickens.

We get the children out of the Land rover as I spot a tall dark haired man with a touch of distinguished looking grey at the front door smiling, it was pretty clear who he was, it was like looking at an older version of Ben he was handsome just like him and had the same smile. he starts walking towards the car as we get our things together Ben drops the bags and runs towards him "Dad" he shouts as they wrap their arms round each other 

"Ah it's good to see you son" he takes Ben's face in his hands and takes a good look at him.

Ben turns to me as we come up behind him and puts his hand to my back pulling me to him "Dad this is My Lisa" his dad smiles at me and puts his hands on my arms 

"Well now lass let's take a look at you" I hear Ben laughing behind me "So your the beauty that's stolen my lads heart" I laugh at him he's making me blush, like father like son hey. 

"It's so lovely to meet you Mr Langley" I say

"Call me William my love and I'm so pleased to meet you lovey I really am" he bends down to the children.

"Well now you must be Riley and Ellie" 

"Hello" Riley says "Would you like to play with my trains?" William smiles at him 

"I would love to" he tells him 

"Hello young lady" he says to Ellie who turns shy hiding behind Ben's leg 

"It's OK Princess" says Ben bending down to her "This is my daddy" he tells her she looks at William and smiles 

"Hi" she says very quietly. With that there's a shout from inside the house 

"Benjamin Langley let your Gran have a look at you boy" I can't help but laugh 

"Hi Gran" shouts Ben as his Gran comes and pulls him into a tight hug. 

"Oh Ben lovey its so good to see you" she says patting him on the back not letting go for a while when she suddenly turns to me putting her hand to her mouth gasping "You must be Lisa" she hugs me and gives me a peck on each cheek 

"Pleased to meet you at last Mrs Langley" she looks at me up and down "My you're a Bonny lass aren't you and its Evelyn" she says I smile "But you look pale cherub are you OK?" I stutter not sure what to say 

"Just a touch of travel sickness Gran" Ben tells her saving me. 

"Is that what it is? and look at these little angels" she says saying hello to the children "Look at you two aren't you gorgeous" she says "Riley have you been a good boy for Gran" she asks and he nods "And you Ellie are you OK" she asks and Ellie says yes "how would you like to come with Gran for some milk and biscuits?" she asks as they run off into the house. 

I go to pick up one of the bags "No sweetheart" Ben says and I make eyes at him as he whispers to me "I don't want you lifting anything heavy OK" he says making me smile 

"Come on lad I'll help" William says as he carries the bags with Ben 

"Are you OK sweetheart?" he asks 

"I'm fine sweetie honest" he kisses me as we head inside.

The house inside is old fashioned like out of a country magazine with logs fires and a big Rayburn in the kitchen the whole house is full of all things Christmas it's lovely. "Aww Ben its amazing I tell him
