Killian stays in my room for the rest of the weekend. I haven't left my room, so I haven't seen Hero again. I don't want to go to class on Monday but I have to. I make sure I'm in a conversation with Amy and Ana so Amy comes sitting next to me.
"I'm sure Hero won't mind," I assure her. When Hero walks in, I feel his eyes on me. I just keep the conversation going so I don't have to look at him. He takes Amy's seat right behind me. I can feel the tension between us. When class ends I walk as fast away as possible. Hero catches up and grabs my arm.
"Let go of me!" I manage to say with a steady and calm voice.
"What's up with you?" He looks mad.
"You're such a jerk, stay away from me!"
"We have an assignment together and we have the same friends. Hell, we practically live together."
"I'll finish the assignment. And my friends are always in my flat anyway. Lizzie stays with Jack all the time and Killian stays at mine." He looks surprised at that last comment. He recovers quickly and looks furious.
"Fine. Have it your way. I told you it was a mistake and I told you not to fall for me." His voice sounds so cold. With one last piercing look in his eyes, I walk away.
