*Slight drug warning
Alyx's POV
I hear a soft sound, making my eyes flutter open. The sun shining through my window blinds me. I rub my eyes and let them adjust to the brightness. I prop myself on my elbows and see Amaya standing at the end of my bed, facing away from me. She stretches her arms above her head, my shirt slightly lifting and revealing a tiny amount of her skin. I let my eyes travel lower. Her shorts have ridden up, too, so her butt is almost hanging out. I'm totally checking her out.
A noise must have escaped me because her head whips around. She looks taken aback. Her eyes widen, and she quickly drops her arms.
"You're awake." She gives me one of the biggest smiles I've seen her have. My heart begins to speed up. She's so gorgeous.
"Yeah." I clear my throat and give her a small smile. "Good morning."
"Good morning, Alyx." She comes over to me and squats down beside me. "Were you checking me out just then?" she asks with a smug look on her face.
"N-no," I stutter. Redness stains my cheeks. I thought I was starting to get the hang of not stuttering around her. Guess not.
"It's okay if you were." She stands and walks over to my mirror, wiping the makeup from under her eyes. She still looks beautiful, though.
"It's Wednesday, right?" she asks, glancing at me in the mirror.
Shit! I totally forgot about school today! Why didn't my alarm wake me? I grab my phone and see it's dead. I plug it up and turn it on to see it's nine thirty. Damn it! Is my mom home? Amaya's car is parked out front! "We need to get to school," I tell her.
"I really don't feel like doing that today." She plops back on my bed and lays on her back. Her hair is disheveled around her on the bed. She throws her arm over her eyes to block out the light. "You want to skip with me?"
Skip with her? I've never really skipped school before, not without an actual reason. I am already late, and I'd love to get to spend the day with Amaya. If my mom's not home yet, I don't need to be here when she does. I go to my window and look out. I don't see her car.
"O-okay, sure but we can't stay here. My mom can't know I'm skipping."
She walks up to me with a devious look in her eyes. She gets on her tiptoes and leans near my ear. "I'm already corrupting you, making you hide things. Is that what you want? That's what you'll start to do being around me," she whispers. I feel her warm breath on my ear and neck. "I'll turn you into a liar."
Memories of last night's kiss flood my head. I almost forgot about it. How? I'm not really sure. My anxiety begins to rise due to the amount of distance between us. I shakily inhale. I know what she said was supposed to deter me, but it kind of had the opposite effect.
I mumble the truth near her ear. "I don't think I mind hiding stuff or lying, not when it's for you."
She pulls away and looks in my eyes. She doesn't seem very happy. Her eyes hold a soft glare. A heavy sigh leaves her lips before she replies, "I mind." She steps away from me and dismisses herself to the bathroom. Why does she mind? I'd do just about anything for her, so lying isn't really that big of a deal.
I take the chance to put on some pants, not before locking the door. I grab a gray shirt and put it on. I unlock the door and start putting my shoes on. She comes back in and grabs her pants and shoes off the floor. She doesn't put them on, though. "I used some of your mouthwash," she tells me.
"Okay, that's fine."
I go to the bathroom myself and brush my teeth very fast. I finish up and go back to the room. I grab my backpack, so it's not here for my mom to notice.
