You and Bill stood outside of your parent's house. You had a well-made cake you and Bill made. You rung the doorbell. Waiting for your parents to answer.
Bill looked stressed. "What is it, baby?" You asked. "What if they don't like me?" Bill asked, worried. "If they don't like you, that's their problem, not mine. I love you." You said. Bill smiled.
Your mom answered the door. She hugged you tightly. "y/n! We've missed you so much!" Your mom said. Your dad hugging you as well.
Then when they got done hugging you, they slightly glared at Bill. "Well, come in". Your mom said. Forcing a smile at Bill.
You knew this was gonna be a long night.
---
You were in the kitchen with Bill. You and he decided to cook dinner. Bill seemed to look even sadder.
"Bill? Are you okay?" You asked. Bill looked at you. "They don't like me". The way your parents look at me. How they, force smiles." Bill said, looking down. You felt sorry for him. Bill was an amazing guy, he was a gentleman, but also understood if he did something terrible you would leave his eyes.
He understood you were a tough girl. But I guess your parents couldn't see that. You finished the food and you walked into the dining room. Bill walked into the dining room with the drink he made.
Bill set it down next to the mashed potatoes and he sat next to you. As soon as your parents saw him sit next to you. Your dad seemed on edge.
"Oh crap, we don't have any ketchup." Your dad said. Bill seemed uncomfortable. "Are you guys trying to get rid of me?" Bill questioned.
You sat back and let Bill confront them. "This entire evening you guys have been giving me the cold shoulder. You were whispering about me, glaring at me, making me feel unwanted." Bill said,
"We don't think you are worth our daughters time". Your father said. You had enough and stepped in. "I've had enough, I'm agreeing with Bill. Bill IS worth my time. He is my fiance and you WILL respect him. If not, I WILL leave". You said.
"Why don't you apologize to Bill hmm?" You said. Neither of your parents said anything. You scoffed in annoyance.
"We're leaving, Let's go, Bill". You said grabbing his hand and walking out of the door. You both got in the car. Not saying a word.
You broke the silence. "Bill, I want you to feel comfortable when I'm around family or friends. And I'm glad you decided to say something. But I should have listened." You said.
"It's okay, you just wanted me to meet your parents". Bill said kissing you. You kissed back.
"Let's go home," Bill suggested.
I hope this is what u wanted,
