Since the UA entrance exam was over you decided to give yourself a much needed break from training and studying, and it would have been nice, had it not been for the anxious demon gnawing at your stomach waiting for your letter to arrive. It. Was. Hell. Everyone else in your house was busy most of the time with something else and you had nothing to do except for worry. You were so worried you even began to drive everyone else in your family crazy.
"Oh my god, y/n. Please. Calm down. We're all going to go mad if you don't stop." Kawa talked to you as you lied dramatically on the couch. She was walking around the room, bending ribbons of water around the room as she gave her plants a drink, since she apparently didn't know what a watering can was. And she called you a show off.
"It's been a week, Kawa! What if they never even send me a letter because they think I'm not good enough?"
"Oh, hush. We both know your good enough to do anything you want. Your way more talented at water bending than I am!" It was true, Kawa wasn't even a master despite being nineteen, and she didn't plan on becoming one. She was perfectly content with how advanced she was now, since that was all she needed to know. She could plant bend and heal. In her opinion, that was all she needed to know.
"Maybe, but am I good enough for them?" You began to question your existence, something you had been doing a lot lately. And by lately, you meant in the past week since the exam. "Are we ever really good enough?"
Kawa flung tiny droplets of water in your face, causing you to make an unidentifiable angry noise. She rolled her eyes.
"Your good enough for me, idiot." You resisted the urge to gag. Why was she always so cheesy?
You were about to response when there was a knock at the door. You jumped up off of the couch and bolted to the front door, almost causing Kawa to drop the water she was bending. Looking through a window, you saw the mailman. You squealed."I have a letter for Ikeyuri, Y/n from UA?" You almost screamed.
"That's me!" The mailman looked like he wanted to quit his job. You could here Kawa's sigh of relief in the background.
He handed you the letter and left. You ran to show Kawa, holding it up in her face. It had a wax seal on it and everything! So official. You made a mental note to ask for a wax seal for your birthday. You would probably forget.
"Ooh, it's so fancy!" Kawa had an old soul, which meant she didn't know how to use slang. "What are you waiting for! Go open it." You dashed up the stairs towards your bedroom, closing your door when you got there. You sat down at you desk to open it, staring at it in awe for a moment. This letter held your fate!
Your AvaPaang posters were staring down at you from the wall. It was almost as if your mom was watching you.
The smile fell from your face. She died when you were three, so you didn't really have any memory of her, or your father. You looked at the framed picture of them on your desk. They looked so happy together, smiling and holding each other close. You sighed.
Your parents may not have been here, but you have other family that is. You travelled back downstairs without opening your letter.
"What's wrong? Aren't you going to open it?" Kawa asked upon seeing you set it down on the coffee table.
"I have to wait for Gram and Pau. I want us all to open it together."
"Are you sure? They won't be mad at you, y/n."
"Yes. I'm sure."
So the both of you waited silently for the others to come back home. You resumed your position on the couch and Kawa busked herself like she always does, since she never stays still.
🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊
After everyone finally got home you excitedly showed them your letter, making sure to point out how cool you thought the wax seal looked. As soon as you could all of you sat down on the couch together. You sat in the middle with Kawa and Gram on your left and Pau on your right. You were bouncing up and down, sure that someone was going to tell you to stop it, but it seemed that they were just as excited as you were.
"Oh. My. God. What are you waiting for?" Pau complained loudly. You opened the letter.
The envelope had a small metal disk in it. You took it out and held it in the palm of your hand, eyeing it curiously. Suddenly it lit up, shooting beams of light out of the top. It was a hologram device, and it had almost blinded you, so you dropped it on the ground."I am here, as a hologram!" Your entire family gasped. It was All Might! "Since I'm now teaching at UA I'm going to give you your entrance exam results! Young Ikeyuri, in the written test you made a B."
"Hey, not bad." Kawa commented. You nodded in agreement. Would they have All Might tell you if you failed? Somehow you doubted it, but you didn't want to get your hopes up.
"In the practical portion of the exam you scored 38 villain points." You began to get worried. Was that a good enough amount? You had gotten distracted for a moment after saving that one boy, who you still couldn't remember the name of. "But that's not all! We also give out additional points when you save another test examinee, called rescue points."
"You better have rescued someone y/n." Pau whispered worryingly. You smiled and nodded at him and he relaxed.
"Not only did you rescue another examinee, but the test judges have also chosen to take into account the people you healed after the test was over!" Huh, you had completely forgotten about that. "Which leaves you with 25 rescue points and a combined score of 63 points. Congrats young Ikeyuri! You made it into 5th place! You are now enrolled into class 1A of the UA hero course!"
You screamed. Pau screamed. Kawa screamed. Even Gram let out a delighted shriek. You all jumped up off the couch at the exact same time, all screaming.
"Y/n, you're going to UA!" Pau grabbed your shoulders excitedly.
"I'm going to UA!" You yelled in his face.
"You're going to UA and your going to be taught by All Might!"
"Oh my god, All Might is my teacher!" You turned around to the sight of Kawa bawling her eyes out. You hugged her tightly and soon your entire family had formed a group hug. You all may have cried. A lot. You were absolutely ecstatic. After a moment off silence, save a few sniffles, Pau spoke.
"I say we go to y/n's favorite restaurant to celebrate. How 'bout it?"
"Heck yeah!" You pumped your fist in the air. "I can't wait to tell my favorite restaurant owner that I'm going to UA!"
"I'm in! It's about time we go out." Kawa smiled. "And this way there's no dishes."
"That sounds like a good idea. Let's celebrate." Gram patted your head.
"Yeah," you said. Now that you had your results back you could finally relax. "Let's celebrate."
