You chose a cool, casual outfit that consisted of one of your AvaPaang tees with a jean jacket, jean shorts, and a pair of hand-me-down nikes that used to belong to Kawa. When Pau saw he nodded in approval.

"You clean up well, kid. I'm ready to walk into the lion's den." He grabbed his leather jacket from the coat hanger near the door. "Before we go though, I have to ask you, how much cooler do they think I am than what I actually am?"

"Oh, waaaay cooler. I totally talked you up." You joked. Pau grimaced behind your back as he locked the door.

"Nice to know. Eh, what's a few more failed expectations?"

"I'm kidding. Also, even if I did make you out to be the coolest cat in town, you'd still exceed their expectations. Because you are." Pau chuckled.

"Okay, stop. I get your message. Consider me uplifted." The two of you walked to the cafe since Kawa took the car. It turned out Gram was visiting your next door neighbor, who also happened to be her best friend, the nice old lady Ritsu.

Before you got to the cafe you spotted a tuft of spiky red hair waiting by the door. You stalked up behind him and tapped on his shoulder. He turned around quickly, almost accidentally whacking you in the face before realizing who it was and breaking out into his shark-toothed grin.\

"You should watch out, I almost hit you!" He said. You smiled.

"Sorry. What are you doing here early?" You asked him.

"I was too excited to stay at home. Your shirt is awesome, by the way. Is it vintage, or a reprint? Where did you find it?" You lit up at the chance to talk about one of your prized possessions.
"Oh, it's vintage. It used to be my mom's." Kirishima laughed.

"If my mom had a manly shirt like that I'd steal it too." He then noticed Pau standing behind you. "This is your brother, right? I'm Kirishima Eijiro!" He stuck out his hand and Pau shook it.

"Yep, that's me. Afraid I'm a bit more normal than she made me out to be."

"No, you seem super manly!" Kirishima assured Pau.

"We're here!" Uraraka came up from behind you, followed by Midoriya.

"Sorry I'm late, I had training." Midoriya apologized even though he was on time. His hair was slightly damp from taking a rushed shower. Suddenly he noticed Pau and his eyes grew wide.

"Omg, Fleetwind! I'm a huge fan! I mean, I sort of just discovered you, because Y/n told me about you? But I think you're super cool!" He talked a mile a minute.

"Heeeeey, calm down. I'm a normal guy, I swear." Pau put his hands up. "Are we all here? Can we go in now?"

"Yes!" You answered excitedly and your group entered the cafe, choosing a window booth. You, Pau, and Kirishima sat on one side and Midoriya and Uraraka sat on the other. Everyone ordered a drink, and Midoriya ordered a healthy snack since he had rushed to arrive.

"So, you're all heroes in training, huh? Looks like Y/n has some serious competition." Pau commented on your friends.

"Your sister's so cool, man! She's totally the reason we won during our first hero studies class." Kirishima radiated sunshine as he praised you. You put your hand to your heart and closed your eyes dramatically.

"Thanks Kiri, your precious." You said.

"He's definitely right! Y/n is really skilled in her quirk." Uraraka piped up.

"Wrong, she's a fucking loser." It felt like time stopped. What was Bakugo doing here? It was like he just appeared out of thin air or something.

"I agree. A complete gremlin." You almost choked on your own saliva as Pau agreed with the enemy.

"What are you doing here?" You asked with an attitude. Luckily Pau saw where the conversation was heading and diverted it from its original path.

"He's here because you invited him, Y/n. You're Bakugo, right? Grab a chair." He gestured for him to steal a chair from a nearby table. "I'm this chaos child's brother. Call me Pau."

"You didn't tell me he was cool." Bakugo commented.

"Uh, yeah I did?" You said.

"She probably did, you just don't listen, Bakugo!" Uraraka exclaimed. "Ooh, our drinks are ready!"

You all got your drinks in hand and Bakugo ordered something for himself. Meanwhile, Midoriya finally mustered up the courage to ask Pau to autograph his hero analysis notebook.

"Wow, you really observe a lot. This is neat." Pau read all of Midoriya's little notes about him and his hero outfit. "I bet you're good at battle strategies."

"Yeah, Deku's really good at figuring out his opponents moves!" Uraraka said and you nodded.

"He fucks around too much in battle. He doesn't act enough." Bakugo openly criticized Midoriya.

"That can be a problem sometimes. I know a few heroes who have trouble getting out of they're own head." Pau said. "It really takes practice. I'm sure he'll get it figured out."

"Yeah, we all have our flaws. Sometimes I can be too manly." Kirishima flexed.

"Bakugo's too emotional." You joked.

"I am not! I'm calm all the damn time!" He slammed his fist down on the table.

"Are you?" You asked.

"Hey, keep it cool guys!" Pau readily stepped into his role as mediator. "Everyone needs practice. Nobody's good at anything in the beginning."

You guys hung out for a surprising amount of time before everyone started slowly trickling out. Uraraka pealed out first and Midoriya agreed to walk her home. Kirishima was talking enthusiastically with Pau about Red Riot and his positive impact on the pro hero industry while you and Bakugo stood by the door. He had his hands in his pockets, thumbs sticking out.

"You're not so bad, Bakugo. You can be horribly irrational at times, but you're not so bad." You said to him.

"Of course I'm not, I'm fucking amazing!" He exclaimed. "Also I guess you're not so bad yourself." He almost mumbled it. You smiled.

"Maybe we could be, kind of, sort of, just a little bit friends?" You asked, expecting a hard no.
"If I say yes are you gonna be fucking annoying?"

"Oh please, I'm going to be annoying no matter what your answer is." You teased him. He groaned.

"Fine, but only a little fucking bit! We're not really friends."

"Of course not!" You assured him. "Besides, we still have to be sort of rivals."

"We do?"

"Yes. We're opposites. Fire and water. We're destined to fight." You rolled your eyes at him. "Obviously."

"Whatever you say nerd. In that case, I'm gonna fucking beat you into the dust."

"I'd like to see you try." Pau and Kirishima finally finished their conversation and everyone said their goodbyes. You skipped along beside Pau on the way home.

"You seem happy. Did you get everything worked out with Bakugo?" He asked. You nodded.

"We're sort of friends!" You exclaimed. "He's still annoying, but maybe we won't argue constantly now."

"I wouldn't count on it. That kid is a ticking time bomb." He commented. "You two do seem to go well together, though."

"Ew, you sound like Kawa!"

"You have to go out with someone eventually, Y/n! Also I didn't mean it like that." You glared at him. "Okay, I kind of did. But it's way too early to tell. Relationships don't come easy."

"I know that, that's why I'm avoiding them." You said while thinking about your mission. You hugged yourself to ward off the chill as the sun began to set. "I have more important things to focus on."
