You had the strangest dream on Sunday night. You knew it was a dream because you were in a forest, and you had never been in a forest before. Moss coated the ground instead of grass and lightning bugs flew lazily from one place to another. You walked around barefoot, still in the makeshift pajamas you had fallen asleep in.

"You look lost." You turned around to see an old man staring at you. He was wearing green with a white beard and holding a lantern in one hand. He was large and round and had a friendly smile on his face.

"I wouldn't say I'm lost. I'm not looking for anywhere in particular." You said. He started walking towards you so you became wary, taking a step backwards.

"It's alright, I have no intentions of hurting you." He put his empty hand up as a sign of peace. "Do you know where you are?" He asked.

"I think I'm dreaming? I've never been here before." You looked around. "Who are you?"

"Who I am is not important right now. Do you know who you are?" You looked at him in confusion. Did he think you had amnesia?

"Uh, yeah? I'm Y/n." You answered, unsure if you should've told him your name. He seemed nice, but you had been wrong about people before.

"That's not what I meant. Let me ask you something else, what are you looking for at UA?" This guy knew an awful lot about you, but you figured that was probably because this was a dream.
"I'm looking for the Avatar." You answered honestly. He sighed.

"You're not going to find them where you think they are." You frowned. "None of your classmates are the Avatar."

"How do you know?" You asked with an attitude.

"Yin, you need to look into your heart. I'm not trying to make you feel bad, I'm trying to reveal the truth you have hidden from yourself. You already know."

You opened your mouth to respond but couldn't before everything got really fuzzy inside of your head. You closed your eyes and opened them to see the ceiling of your bedroom, as opposed to the mythical forest you were in before. You had woken up.

You didn't move for a few minutes, instead opting to stare at the ceiling and think about the dream. You remembered what the man had said about the Avatar. There was a sinking feeling in the pit of your stomach that told you he was right. You pushed it away and looked at the time. It was a bit too early to get up so instead you watched various tiktoks until you eventually got up late. Thanks tiktok.

You ended up rushing out the door. You may have forgotten a couple of things you would probably need, but it would be alright. You got into class just as the last bell rang. Aizawa Sensei shuffled in behind you.

"You're getting quiet faster, that's good." He commented as he dumped a handful of messy papers on his desk. "Tomorrow there's going to be a field trip for hero studies. Fortunately for you I had an emergency shift last night and got approximately twelve minutes of sleep, so I don't particularly care what you do for homeroom, as long as you do it quietly." After he said this he climbed into his sleeping bag and began lightly snoring. Your classmates all gave each other weird looks. It looked like Iida was going to say something about it, but took pity on your teacher. He did look marginally worse than normal, but it was hard to tell.

Some of your more responsible classmates began to do their homework, others pulled out their phones. You pulled out one of your notebooks, the one with the potential avatar list. You flipped to it quickly, since you had folded the corner down to find it easier. You frowned. Giving it some thought, there were definitely more of your classmates you could easily cross off of your list. If one of them was the Avatar, then they were hiding it. You had figured you would find them day one. It was beginning to look like you wouldn't find them at all. Your heart sinked.

You looked up to see Midoriya turned around in his chair, looking at you. "Hey, you okay?" He asked quietly. You smiled.

"Yeah, I just had this dream last night that keeps bothering me."

"You want to talk about it?" He asked, brow furrowed. He was a good friend.

"Nah, I'm good. I'll get over it." You said. He nodded in understanding.

"Saturday was great! You're lucky to have such a cool brother. I can't believe he signed my notebook."

"Oh, he's great. You should come over to my house sometime, Gram can make an amazing cup of tea. As long as your not super allergic to houseplants you should be fine." You said.
"You have a lot of houseplants?" He asked.

"Yeah, every few days Kawa brings home another dying plant and nurses it back to health. It's not home if I'm not sneezing constantly!" You gave him a thumbs up. He looked concerned. "I'm just kidding, it's not that bad." He breathed in relief. You then felt a tap on your shoulder. You turned around to see Yaoyorozu.

"You two should probably be doing something school related." She said. You realized everyone around you was listening in on your conversation and blushed a little bit. Midoriya turned around and got busy on something. You looked back down at your paper. Sighing quietly you began to cross of multiple names. It really was in front of your face the entire time, it was a shame it took a dream for you to see it.
