All of the first year UA students were once again crowded before Midnight's stage after the first round. You were surrounded by your classmates from class 1A, most of whom you were sure had made it to the next round. The smile from getting second place had yet to leave your mouth as Midnight began to speak in her loud, dramatic voice.

"The first game for the first years is finally over, and what a game it was! Now, let's take a quick look at the standings, shall we?" She said, and pictures of the people going through to the next round flashed across the giant screen behind her along with their number. There you were in second place. Your smile grew wider and you nodded in self-assurance. Why had you ever doubted yourself?

"Only the top 42 will advance to the next round. But don't be too let down if you didn't make the cut! We've prepared other opportunities for you to shine." You knew the school always had fun games prepared for the people who didn't place higher, and you assumed this was what she was referring too. "Now the real fun is about to begin. The chance to fully move yourselves into the limelight! Give it your best! Let's see what we have in store for you next. Will your wildest fantasies come to life? What could it be? The waiting is torture. Prepare yourselves... for this!"

The screen behind her displayed your next challenge and you gasped as it was revealed.

"Cavalry Battle? I'm terrible at those." Kaminari moaned beside of you. You couldn't help but agree. You may be the Avatar, but as of right now you didn't consider yourself a leader. You hoped you weren't somehow forced to be at the top.

"Ugh, it's basically the Sports Festival's equivalent of a group project!" You added to Kaminari's dismay.

"Huh, it's not an individual event. I wonder how they'll split us up." Tsu wondered aloud. Before you could consider the different ways Midnight spoke up.

"Allow me to explain. The participants will form teams of two-to-four people as they see fit. In theory, it's basically the same as a regular playground game. But there is one difference. Each player has been assigned a point value based on the results from the obstacle course."

"I get it, a point-based system like the entrance exams. That seems pretty simple." Sato said thoughtfully, a hand on his chin.

"So that means each team will have a different point value based on which students are on it." Uraraka added to Sato's observation and Mina nodded her head enthusiastically.

"Uh-uh!" She smiled. You couldn't help but giggle at your friends antics.

"Maybe you should shut up and let me explain things to you!" Midnight interrupted the students chatter rudely. "Now then. The point assignments go up by increments of five, starting from the bottom. For example, 42nd place is worth five points, and 41st is worth ten. And the point value assigned to the first place contestant is... ten million!"

"Ten million?" Midoriya's voice cracked painfully and you instantly felt sorry for him. The poor kid just couldn't catch a break. All of your other classmates looked at him predatorily. You know the saying 'there's no honor among thieves'? Well apparently there was no honor among heroes either.

"That's right. It's the survival of the fittest, with a chance for those at the bottom to overthrow the top!" Midnight seemed awfully excited about Midoriya's misfortune. You were suddenly really glad you had placed second, and not first. "These are the rules that you'll abode by! The game itself will last 15 minutes. Individual point values will be added together to reach your team total. Everyone will know how much you're worth thanks to your headbands. Swipe as many headbands as you can to raise your teams score. Stolen headbands must be worn from the neck up. So the more you steal, the harder it'll be to manage them. And another thing, even if your headband gets stolen or your team falls down, you can keep playing until times up."
