After finishing supper and helping with the dishes you decided to do something you had planned on doing for a while. Over the years the beach near your house had fallen into complete disrepair, but lately rumors had been floating around your neighborhood that someone was cleaning it up. You had been meaning to pay it a a visit, but you had been so preoccupied with studying and becoming a better water bender that you didn't have the time. Until now.

"Wow," you were in awe upon seeing the beach. "Who on earth did this?" You had the urge to take your sneakers and socks off despite the cool weather. Cleaning the place must have been a job. There was even old refrigerators lying around the last time you were here.

Approaching the ocean, you began to water bend. It came as naturally as riding a bike, something you could never forget. It had been a while since you had been around a large expanse of water, choosing instead to focus on learning how to fight with a limited amount. The water swirled around you as you moved your arms in a rhythmic pattern. You had always thought that bending required a little more nuance to use than a quirk, but since you didn't have a quirk you guess you would never really know.

You were so engrossed in your bending that you didn't notice someone was watching you. At least, not until he purposefully cleared his throat.

The water your were bending fell onto the beach. You quickly turned around to see who was watching you. It was a man who was ridiculously tall and ridiculously thin. He wore a t shirt that was waaaay to big, and his hair was very odd. His bangs hung in front of his face.

Oh no, you thought. I wasn't paying attention and there is a homeless man, who was probably taking drugs before I got here, on this beach. You should have known better, really. Your family wasn't exactly well off, so you lived near the rougher side of town. You sure did get distracted easily.

The man almost knelt down, as if his first instinct was to pick up what you had dropped, before realizing that it was water, and he could not. You felt the urge to run away. Far away. Pau was constantly getting on to you for this kind of shit and yet, here you were. The man cleared his throat, again, before speaking.

"Sorry I startled you." He had a deep, kind voice, but that didn't stop you from being suspicious. Or scared.

"Oh, it's okay. Welp, gotta go!" You spoke quickly in a high pitched voice before turning around, trying your hardest not to go too fast.

"Wait! I don't mean to scare you, I promise. I wanted to ask you a question." He sounded sincere so you stopped and turned around, but before he could speak someone else came up.

"Y/N, how many times do I have to tell you not to talk to strangers?" Thank the spirits it was Pau. "And it's getting dark out? God, kid. You're gonna kill me one day." He grabbed you hand and led you away. You didn't look back.

"Sorry, Pau. He just kind of snuck up on me," you spoke when you two were far enough away. He sighed.

"I know. I'm sorry for blowing up back there." He let go of your hand. "I just worry about you."

"And don't I know it!" You laughed. Pau was a bit overprotective sometimes. He considered himself the man of the house, often saying it jokingly.

"Hey, I'm really proud of you. Even if you don't get into UA."

"I know that too."

All Might watched as Pau dragged you away, not even bothering to protest. He had remembered you from the entrance exam, he even knew you were going to be in the same class as young Midoriya. But there was also something else that had caught his eye.

"I wonder..." he trailed off with his hand on his chin. She was definitely a water bender, and a very powerful one at that. She could even be a master, he thought, though he probably hadn't met enough really good water benders to be able to tell. He knew pulling water from thin air wasn't a rookie move.

He turned around and walked slowly off of the beach. He had some things he needed to think about.
