You were on the hero team with Bakugo. You were also on a team with Todoroki, Hagakure, and Aoyama. You prayed to the spirits the opposing team would choose Bakugo to hold hostage. They chose Todoroki. You felt like your team had lost before the battle had even begun.

"Don't leave me with Bakugo, Todoroki!" You cried dramatically as he was led away by the other team. He gave you a look over his shoulder. It was hard to tell, but you thought you could see a tinge of pity in his cold eyes.

"Sorry, Ikeyuri. It was the logical choice." Midoriya said, who was on the villain team along with Mina, Kaminari, Sero, and Ojiro.

"Logical choice, my ass! If you really wanted to prevent my team from winning you would have chosen me!" You sighed loudly at Bakugo. You didn't even have the strength to say anything to him at this point. This was the kind of situation where you needed a delicate touch. You doubted that Bakugo could ever be delicate, even if he wanted to.

"Here are your supplies, students! Your coms, capture tape, and your phone to contact the villain team. Although you won't be calling them, only they can call you. The villains are calling the shots. Good luck!" All Might handed you your stuff and left to follow the other students to the monitoring room. Unfortunately, your battle was first.

"Hey Bakugo, listen-," you began to try to reason with Bakugo.

"No, you extras are gonna listen to me! We aren't negotiating with any villains. I'm gonna-."\

"Oh, just like you did on the first Hero Studies exercise? When you lost?" You cut him off with an even louder voice than him. He grew quiet for once. He probably wasn't used to people yelling back at him. "We need to save the hostage. That's what All Might said. Even if it means negotiating with villains."

"Ha! As if I care about fucking scarface. I'll do what I want!"

"Le coéquipiers, maybe we can talk this out calmly?" Aoyama tried to calm down the conversation.

"No! Not with this wench trying to tell me what to do!"

"What did you call me?" Did this bitch really just call you a wench? The audacity. "I'm the wench? When you're wearing that?" Aoyama sunk into the background with Hagakure. He had done all he could.

"I'm done fucking talking to you. If you wanna be a whiny bitch that's your problem, I'm gonna take down those villains like a fucking hero!"

Meanwhile everyone in the monitoring room silently watched the exchange. They didn't need to hear the audio to know an argument was taking place.

"This is going to end badly." Yaoyorozu stated. All Might grimaced before talking on the intercom.

"The negotiations may begin now! Remember, your goal is to save the hostage!" All Might said over the intercom. You held Bakugo's muscly arm with a death grip, desperately trying to stop him from screwing everything up. It didn't work of course, he was just pulling you along with him. He finally stopped when the villain communication phone began ringing.

"Please! Just let me try to work things out with the other team. If I fail, then you can wreck shit, or whatever. Please." You made one last ditch effort to convince him to work with you. He looked like he was considering it. "If we work together we can win, Bakugo. I know we can." There was a tense silence. You reminded yourself that he was smarter than he looked.

"You get one fucking chance, and if I don't like your shitty deal then I get to be in charge."

"Deal!" You grabbed the phone from Hagakure, who made no arguments. It seemed she had resigned herself to being in the background. A thought occurred to you. "Hey Hagakure, could you go do some reconnaissance? See what the other team is up to, and don't get too close?"\

"Yes!" She seemed happy that she would be away from the arguing. She hurried off as you answered the phone.

"Good guys here, ready to negotiate?" You decided to play good cop.

"Where's Kaachan?" Of course that was the first thing Midoriya would ask. He probably expected him to go rogue like last time.\

"Say hi to our enemies, boom boy!" You stretched the phone to where Bakugo was standing, arms crossed.

"If you call me that again you fucking die."

"Was that enough for you?" You could practically here Midoriya nodding before it occurred to him that you couldn't see him.

"Yes, that works. We need to work it out so that we both win."

"We need the hostage alive, buuut I don't think Bakugo is going to be happy with letting you all go." You openly admitted it.

"You're fucking right I'm won't be." He said it loud enough that they could hear it. You sighed and pinched the bridge of your nose.

"Hey Ikeyuri," Midoriya said. "Where's Hagakure?" You paled.

"Give me a second, let me squint." You gave a Bakugo a desperate look. He just looked confused. You mouthed Hagakure's name at him. Realization dawned on his face.

"Leave me alone, invisible bitch!" He loudly complained. You had to resist the urge to sigh.

"She's annoying Bakugo." You waited to see if he would buy it.

"Ok. What if i agree to give myself up along with the hostage?" You raised your eyebrows. That might work. You turned to your reluctant partner. Aoyama was grinning weirdly in the background.\

"What if Midoriya gave himself up with the hostage?" You asked.

"Pfft, no." Bakugo immediately disagreed.

"Why not? All you want to do is beat him, right?" You tried to convince him.

"Because I know that shitty Deku, he'll fuck us up somehow. Tell him the only way I'll accept a deal with him is if he surrenders first, and then gives us the hostage."

"Fine. Bakugo says he wants you first, then Todoroki. I think that's a bad idea though, because our first priority is supposed to be the hostage." You glared at Bakugo. It sucked that couldn't just ignore him. He glared back, opening his mouth to curse at you before All Might's voice ringed across the intercom.

"Hagakure has been captured and his out of the battle for the match!" You gasped.

"Did you really think we wouldn't see that coming, Y/n?" You heard Kaminari laugh loudly over the phone. They knew they had no chance at negotiating with Bakugo in the first place. They were only distracting you while they waited to get Hagakure out of the way. How had you not seen it?

"They really screwed up, didn't they?" Kirishima remarked. Your other classmates sounded their agreements. This was the worst anybody had done on one of the Hero Study battles by far.

"I wonder what the villain team will do now? Will they try to negotiate more now that they definitely have the upper hand, or will they try to get to the escape point?" Tsu questioned, hand on her chin.

"I doubt they'll negotiate. Not with Bakugo on the other side of the phone." Yaoyorozu said. "Poor Ikeyuri, she's tried to reason with him the entire match. They were doomed from the start."

"Young Yaoyorozu, I think Ikeyuri is at fault here too. She may have provoked Young Bakugo in the beginning." All Might said. His students thought on it for a moment.

"In her defense, it doesn't take much to 'provoke' Bakugo." Tokoyami said. He was right of course, but something on one of the screens caught their eye. They all gasped unanimously. All Might sighed before picking up the intercom mic again.

"The villains have now killed the hostage. The only way to get away is to reach the escape point. The hero team has lost."
