"Be sure to make yourself heard!" Daichi shouted as the team warmed up.
"Right!"
You went to Tadashi and asked him to help you practice some receives for warm-ups. For the Aoba Johsai match, you decided to take the first match like the before but this time, whatever happens, you'll play for the third set if there is one.
As you warmed up for the match, you heard the Aoba Johsai captain cackling out loud like a child. You turned towards them and saw Tobio on the floor while Tooru had his arms spread out.
"Take that!" Tooru shouted, still laughing.
"Why do I feel like that's how Shouyou would be like if he was the captain on your third year?" You said.
"Let's just hope he isn't then," Tadashi said chuckling.
You shook your head and looked over the whole court. Your eyes narrowed when you noticed two of Aoba Johsai's members looking at Hitoka. You saw him lightly throw a ball towards the blonde.
"Pardon me," said Aoba Johsai's #6 while he jogged to Hitoka. "Could you get that?"
"Pathetic," You said.
You picked up the ball you were supposed to receive and gave it to the green-haired boy helping you.
"Wait a minute," You said to Tadashi as you walked away.
"O-Okay."
"Crap! Look out!" shouted someone.
Your eyes widened as you saw a ball goin towards Hitoka. You were about to stop the ball but Kiyoko got to her first. You looked again at Shigeru— the #6— and felt unsatisfied with the failure of his attempt to talk to Hitoka.
You grabbed the ball that Shigeru threw and walked towards him.
"Here," You said, giving him a grin that gave him the message to back off.
"Thanks," he said.
Before walking away, you gave the boy another look.
"I think you scared him," Kei said, looking over you as you made your way back to Tadashi.
"I'm not sure if he's a third year but if he isn't then he better not plan on using those cheap tricks on Yachi," You said.
"Oh, he fell," Kei said.
"Huh?" You said, turning around.
When you did, you saw that Shigeru was on the floor like Tobio earlier. In front if him was a guy with a #16 jersey on.
"Who is he?" You asked— not really asking for an answer. "I didn't see him before."

"Line up!" Daichi shouted.
You stood beside Tadashi with a confident smile on your face.
"We're the ones that are gonna win this match," Shouyou said.
"Yeah," Tobio said.
You knew that he was talking to Tobio but you, being you, couldn't help but butt in.
"Of course~," You said.
When you heard the whistle, you bowed along with the rest of them.
"Let's play!"
Before the match officially starts, you and the team grouped around Keishin and Ittetsu first.
"The crow's broken wing has healed," Ittetsu started. "And now it's stronger than ever. The bodies and techniques you've trained for this day. Please make sure you go all out and fly into the huge sky. If you're able to do everything that needs to be done, results will follow. That's what I believe."
"Right!"
"Ukai-kun," the club adviser said.
Keishin nodded before talking.
"To be honest, Seijoh's a bad match-up for you. As is any team that's calm and collected...."
The team couldn't help but look the coach with a blank face with how blunt that statement was.
"But overcoming them is our only option," Keishin said. "So go overcome that defeat!"
"Yeah!"
The starting line-up headed towards the court. Before following, you passed by Yu and held up your closed fist. The second-year libero bumped his fist with yours while giving you a big grin.
"Watch me overthrow you as Karasuno's best libero," You said with a grin.
"Sure," Yu said. "If you can."
"I will," You said before walking to the court.
Aoba Johsai was a powerhouse school and that title wasn't just something recklessly given to them. Beating them wasn't going to be easy at all but you knew that your team had a chance and it wasn't just you hoping. You knew that Karasuno actually had a chance.
You've watched the team improve and grow over the few months and although people watching from the stands might not see any difference, you knew just how different everyone was.
Having practice matches against other schools that were also well polished with their skills and connection within the team definitely helped you and the others on improving.
For a moment, you looked back right before the match started.
You remembered your first match against the same team, the one that almost broke your will to continue as a part of the team. You still thanked Yu with all your heart whenever you remember that he helped you get back on your feet.
The Karasuno volleyball team, you truly love them and you were happy to have met them along the way. Although you had to leave, you didn't regret anymore that you let yourself get closer and connect to the team. Happiness wouldn't even be enough to describe how you truly feel whenever you play with the team— official match or not.
Karasuno was two matches away from getting into the Nationals and you wanted, more than anything, to help them win this match. If you do, then you'd be able to leave the team happily.
'That day we lost to Seijoh, I told myself that I was gonna stay in the club only for Shouyou but I wasn't going to continue with pretending to be an athlete. Now, things are different.'
You looked at the six inside the court while you stood a few inches away from the court.
'I can't stay in the club anymore. I'm not protecting Shouyou anymore. And, I'm not pretending to be an athlete anymore. Because I actually am one. I know, I can't continue living this life since I'm actually an agent, but that doesn't mean that I was never an athlete.'
You smiled a little to yourself.
'My name may be fake but everything else is real. My connection with the team, me being a libero, it's all real. I'm a libero and I'm gonna show Seijoh just how great I am at being one.'
The whistle was blown and the match began.
