It had only been a day since the last time he saw you, but Kei still felt uneasy. If it was just a normal goodbye, then he wouldn't be as worried but it wasn't. He didn't know where or how you were right now and the thought of losing you on his birthday didn't really sit well with him.
The blond decided to just go up to his room and take a rest. The sun hasn't set yet, but then again, naps don't have to happen at any specific time. Before doing that though, Kei decided to look again at the glasses that Akiteru had bought him.
He closed the case the glasses came with and placed it on his table. At that moment, a phone started ringing.
When he realized that it was his phone, his heartbeat picked up. Before looking at the contact, two thoughts passed by his mind. The first was that it might've been you while the other was how disappointed he'd probably be if it wasn't you.
Kei took a quick breath in and out before looking at the contact. After seeing who it was, a small smile appeared on his face before he even realized. He made sure to go back to his regular face though before picking up the phone.
"Hey!"
"What is it?" Kei asked.
"Look out your window," You said. "Preferably one facing your house's gate."
"Why?"
Kei asked that, but looked out anyways before you even answered his question. When he did, he saw a [h/c]-haired girl standing outside. He saw you.
"I'm just checking something," You said, looking over the house. "Am I in front of the right house?"
You still looked around until you finally saw the opened window that Kei was looking from.
"Looks like I am," You said, smiling at him.
Kei— although wouldn't show it— felt relief brush off his worries and with it, made him unconsciously slip up and say what was in his mind.
"You're here," he mumbled.
It was faint but you heard it and it made you smile.
"I'm here."

"I'm gonna leave now, Tsukishima-san," You said, bowing to Kei's mother. "Thank you for letting me come in."
"You're gonna leave already? You haven't even taken a slice of the cake you bought," Kei's mother said.
Before heading to the Tsukishima residence, you went and bought a whole cake of Kei's favorite which you asked Tadashi for— as well as the blond's address.
"It's okay," You said with a smile. "I bought it for him anyway."
"It would've been nice if you could have stayed longer, but I won't hold you back," Kei's mother said. "Oh, have Kei walk-"
"Oh no no," You said, waving your hands. "I don't wanna bother hi-"
"Let's go."
"Huh?" You said as you turned to the side and saw Kei standing there with casual clothes.
"You really don't have to," You said.
"I'm gonna pass by the store anyways," Kei said. "I'll walk you until we reach the store."
"Okay," You said. "Goodbye. Thank you again."
"Stay safe!" Kei's mother said as the two of you walked out of the house.
While walking, you just started humming a random tune with your hands behind your back and your eyes looking around. Kei glanced at you and wondered if you were only pretending to be okay.
