"So, essentially," Yu said, getting into position to prepare himself for receiving the ball. "You go zip, then go whoop, and pow."

'Zip... Whoop... P-Pow?'

You didn't understand a single thing that came out Yu's mouth. Still, he knew what he was doing so you were going to try at least in deciphering it.

"Like that," Yu said once the ball bounced off his arms.

Everyone looked at him with you, Shouyou, Tadashi, and Kei looking more confused than the rest.

"It's no good," Ryunosuke said. "He can't explain it because he moves purely on instinct."

"Instinct?" You asked.

'That doesn't help me as someone who relies more on my reflexes.'

Instincts are more natural and inborn compared to relfexes. While you may have sharp instincts, these instincts are related to you being a spy.

"Really?" Tobio asked— a response to Ryunosuke's comment. "I sort of understood what he was saying."

"Because you belong to his species," the second-year said.

"Species," You mumbled. 'Is there a breed of talented volleyball players?'

"When you explain something, all you say is pow and woah and stuff," Ryunosuke continued. "Nobody else understands you."

You chuckled as Tobio reacted in a surprised manner to Ryunosuke's words.

"Kageyama. Don't worry!" You said, grinning at him. "Next time, I'll try to understand you!"

As you continued to laugh at your own statement, you happened to overhear your captain and club advisor's conversation.

"The libero specializes exclusively in defense. They're not allowed to make offensive plays, like serving or spiking," Daichi explained to Ittetsu, your club advisor.

"Wait a minute," You reacted, causing your captain to look at you. "Then what have I been practicing serving for if I'm not allowed to do it?"

"Ah that," your captain said. "Since we were the ones who made you a libero, we didn't want to close off your skills to just receiving since you might prefer a different position later on."

"That makes sense," You replied.

'But, will I even have time to reconsider my position when I'll leave as soon as I have what I need?'

You redirected your attention back to Yu and your fellow first-years.

"You!" Yu pointed to Kei. "I've been noticing your height. How tall are you?"

"Tsukki is-"

"Shut up, Yamaguchi."

"Sorry, Tsukki."

'The longer time I spend here, the warmer this place gets to me.'

You didn't want to admit it but you actually enjoyed the team's presence— Shouyou included even if you still believed that he might be involved in your mission.

You never really experienced having this connection with other people who weren't in the same field as you. During missions, you'd often build relationships as well but you had no problems with cutting them off because everyone you ever befriended was all because of a mission. 

You knew behind those lying faces was a person you would be more than happy to bring down. But these people around you right now? They were innocent— excluding Shouyou for now because you were still investigating on that.
