Eddie

I was practically sleeping with my head on the table.

"Eat something, Eddie."

"Im not hungry." I mumbled.

"Hello." We heard a girl and when I got up, Nancy was sitting across from us, "I hope you don't mind."

"Not at all." I smiled lazily. Nigel was too busy with food.

"Are you alright?" She asked.

"He hasn't slept." Nigel answered.

"Why not?"

"Issues." He mumbled. I glared at him.

She chuckled.

"Well, I couldnt sleep either. So much homework due this afternoon."

"Homework? What for?" She was in my year.

"Astrology. An essay."

"A what?" I jumped up.

"Well, he's awake now." Nigel bit into his sausage.

"You didn't do it?"

"No." I mumbled.

"Come with me to the library. We have second class off." She offered.

"Really? Thanks." I stood and paused. Nigel was busy eating still. Tapping his shoulder, I jogged away with Nancy to our first lesson. After that, we headed straight for the library, knowing full well that we were free till lunch.

After about an hour or more of studying and notes searching, I finished whatever kind of essay I could. Nancy wouldn't let me copy and made me read the entire three chapters off of her book where she'd made notes and underlined a few important spots. That was better than me scratching my head to nothing.

"You're a life saver, Nancy." I muttered.

"Anytime." She smirked.

"Aren't you two done already?" We heard and looked up to find Nigel standing.

"Oh, hey." I bit my lip.

"How'd it go? Is he going to fail?" He grinned.

"I finished it." I showed him the parchments.

"Well, good for you, Nancy."

Nancy turned red.

"Come on, now. It's lunch."

"Really?" Nancy asked, sounding surprised.

"Yeah."

"Wasit, weren't you free, second period?" Nancy asked.

"Yeah. First as well." He grinned, proudly, "How do you know my schedule?"

"It's not just yours. I know a few second years, y'know."

"Well, that's depressing." He muttered.

"You're a second year." She pointed.

"Well, I'm a delight."

"That's what you think." She muttered. I snorted.

"Why didn't you come here when you were free?"

"Really? A library? In spare time?"

"What? Too cool to come to a library?" Nancy uttered. I stared with wide eyes.

"I have other priorities." Nigel fought.
