Jenna

"What year?"

"Third."

"Jenna? Do you want to go inside and help us-" I frowned. I know she was being nice but I could defend myself.

"Ginny, trust me, she's awesome." Nancy snickered and winked at me from behind Ginny. I felt my face heat up and Ginny blinked.

"I want to stay here." I spoke finally and Ginny nodded at me.

"Okay." She smiled. The intensity of the blasts increased and I only flinched slightly when a big one snapped pretty loudly. Suddenly, we heard screaming and there was an army running for the open end of the bridge. Ginny moved back slightly.

"Wands!" Ginny Weasley exclaimed and we all got ready. I was ready to do anything to protect our home. I was.

You can protect yourself from anything only if you wish to. You have no idea how powerful you can be. Ed's words ran through my hair.

Before we could get into action, two people of the army disintegrated as soon as they reached the shield. We all laughed in relief.

"Yeah?" Neville Longbottom snapped, "You and who's army?"

Ginny Weasley sighed. I looked back at Nancy and Casey from behind Ginny and all three of us squeezed hands together.

"Everyone alright?" Ginny Weasley looked around. All the people, Seamus, Dean, Cho Chang, all these people stood with nodding heads.

"Good." She rotated her pale hands on her wand. She was just as scared as us but the girl could keep up a front.

The waiting and watching, fear and tremors of every speak was unnerving and I was almost satisfied until a strong bolt hit the shield and it went on for a couple minutes and the worst of all was the fact that the shielded was ripping up at certain points. I gulped with a hand on my mouth. Ginny released a breath and every student took a step back.

As the shield started raining down on Hogwarts, we watched in fear. Ginny Weasley was staring at the sky with trembling lips and slight fear marring her features.

"Wands at the ready!" She yelled and raised her wand. And then, we heard screaming. When I followed the sound into the forest, I saw an army our way in the bridge and Neville Longbottom running from them. He was running for us, "Watch out for Neville!" Ginny yelled, stupefying a flier. The bridge started collapsing and my eyes widened. It was a trap. A few students laughed but went quiet when Neville Longbottom seemed a bit far. I saw one of the offenders jumping to grab Neville.

"Reducto!" I hissed and the offender blew right off.

"Neville!" Ginny Weasley yelled. Ash blew on all of our faces and then the blast went quiet. I looked around in the settling smoke. We heard a grunting by the broken end of the bridge and Neville Longbottom was pulling himself up, bloody in the face.

"That went well." He spoke and we released sighs of relief as Ginny Weasley levitated him back to solid ground. She crouched by him and they both released a quiet moment of snickers. We heard snaps and yell back in the school and everyone stood.

"It's happening, isn't it?" I whispered to Casey and Nancy.

"Stick together, girls." Nancy spoke. Casey and I nodded and ran with the students into the battle ground. Though our plan to stick together was intact for a few second, we were ambushed the moment got into the courtyard. I was flabbergasted by the sight. Dark robes enveloped us and we readied with our wands.
