I stared at myself, up and down. Again and again. It was a snowy cold morning, so I chose to wear a yellow jumper with my black coat on top. Putting on a black hat and jeans, I fixed my hair loose on my shoulders. Yeah, it was okay. I looked okay. Yeah?
"Well, you look gorgeous, where you prancin' off to pretty lady?" Miranda grinned, plopping on a couch, reading a book.
"Going out with my friends."
"You have more friends? I'm offended." She shook her head.
"Shove off." I laughed.
"Bring me some chocolate cauldrons!" She yelled as I headed to leave.
"Yeah. Yeah." I waved and jogged out. Running down the stairs, my smile couldn't fade. It wouldn't go back. I was excited, nervous and a bit scared to go but mostly happy that a good day could be ahead of us. I kept a clear eye out as I made way to the Entrance Hall. I frowned when I saw no one there. No one by the opened gates. Biting the inside of my cheek, I looked around and felt a small disappointment settling in. What if he couldn't make it?
I decided to move out, so as to not catch anyone's attention. I didn't want to run into anyone, except the one I came here for.
"Finally!" I heard and then my hand pulled me to the side of the doors, hiding from the eyes of the inside. He was standing, holding my hand. His head was exposed and he paired all of him with grey hooded jumper and black jeans and jacket,
"Look at that, we're pairing." He muttered. I snickered.
"Hi." I pulled out a fizzing whizbee from my bag. He looked at it and snickered, "I didn't see you at breakfast." I blinked. He looked around and cocked his head. We made way to the exit trail to Hogsmeade. Signing out with Filch, we released a breath, being a bit away from worry.
"I had an errand to run." He answered.
"All alright?"
"Yeah. Yeah. Just a report to McGonagall." He covered my gloved hand with his exposed one in his arm's fold, "Sometimes I forget that you know who I am. Really used to hiding this." He scratched the back of his head.
"Ed, I had a question."
"Sure."
"I didn't get much details on what your duties are. You know what you get to do? What's it like being one?"
"Scary at first. But it has its perks." He nodded, "Like, I can use magic outside of Hogwarts." I nodded, not surprised, "I can do apparition."
"Already?" I was surprised by this slightly.
"Yeah." He grinned, "There is boring stuff. Like paperwork. Exams. It's basically Auror training. And a lot of Defence Against the Dark Arts studying." He shook his head.
"Not all bad."
"Right. I forgot you love the arts, Professor." He chuckled, "You know, everyone calls you Professor Macy."
"What? Really?" My cheeks heated up, "Not Nancy?"
"Come on, you beat Nancy by much in Defence. You beat me."
I raised a brow.
"I'm not special but I know that I know the Dark and Defensive Arts."
"You taught me so I'm not judging."
"One of my best pupils. Quite admirable." He winked and I snorted a little chuckle.
"What else?" I asked.
