Eddie

I groaned awake. Looking around the white room, I blinked a few times to fight out the light.

"Good. You're alive." I heard a familiar voice and recognized the man from yesterday. Barnsite.

"Oh, hello." I winced, sitting up. My head was pounding.

"Yeah. Thats going to remain for a bit." I touched my forehead and released a hiss at the pain shooting up there, "I won't do that." He sucked a sharp breath in through his teeth, "Its stitched up. Apparating was a bad idea and you're lucky to not get your head split. Harry's very remorseful."

"No. He shouldn't do that. We had no other way to travel."

"Yeah. I know. Thats what I keep telling the man."

"He'll come around." I chuckled and Banrsite snickered with a nod.

"Here." He forwarded a white disposable cup. I took it to see a golden liquid swirling with aromatic mist dancing above it.

"Tea. Freshen you up."

"Thanks, mate." I sipped at it and instant relief grew in my body.

"Ed. Finally. How're you?" I watched Harry walk in.

"All well." I smiled.

"You're sure?" He raised brows.

"Yes. Pretty sure."

"Good good. I've set the chimney for your trip to Hogwarts. Just tell us whenever you are comfortable to leave."

"Wait, whats the hour?" I asked. Harry stared at the black watch on his wrist.

"Six."

"I should go now." I sipped at my tea some more.

"Its still early."

"I'll miss classes." I finished the tea, ignoring the the slight burn on my tongue.

"Who cares?" Barnsite rolled his eyes.

"Look, I'm okay. I'm sure my friends are all wondering where I am and the longer I'm gone, the more explanation I'll have to give."

"Well, fhe Daily Prophet's done that for you mate." Barnsite held up a folded paper.

"What?" Frantic, i slid off the bed to his side and snatched the paper from him. I realized I was still in my jeans and shirt from the other day.

Hogwarts Headmistress' Apprentice, Eddie Gideon, shows real promise. Aurors define his work suitable for the ministry and a good addition to the task squad in the future.

"Oh... this isn't good." I muttered, thinking of the one person I was terrified to face now. Macy.

"Its amazing. Ron, Harry, myself and Caleb gave up so many good quotes about you. Look at what I said. Right there!" Barnsite spoke happily, pointing at the quotes section at the bottom of the article.

'Witty, aggressive and quite agile. Boy's an Auror already I'd say.'

"Thanks mate." I snorted lowly, genuinely pleased with the jolly man. He might actually be fun to work with someday.

"Look at what Harry said." He cocked his head at it.

'Best Auror I've ever seen. Looking forward to his addition to my team soon.'

"You lead the task squad?" I looked back at Harry who was standing with hands behind his back. He nodded, "Wicked."

"Welcome to the team, lad." Barnsite stood and tapped my back, a little strongly, "You need more muscle, otherwise you're a decent player." He analyzed and I shook my head.
