Eddie

Our prank worked like a charm. Alecto stunk so bad that Professor Snape made him stay in his dorm for three days straight. We heard pained groans from his dorm once and twice and rejoiced at the idea that the boils were hitting him as well as we wished them to be.

"We'll keep an eye out. You go ahead." I told Neville as we made way to the Headmaster's office. He nodded.

"Did you get the password?" He asked Louis.

"Dark Lord." Louis answered, "What a cliche. I'd say that's typical desperation for attention." He shook his head. Nigel snorted.

"What's the plan?" Neville asked.

"Nigel and I've got a trap set up for the Carrows and if Snape shows, Ed'll come and get you."

"I think Ed should come on with me. In case we need extra effort."

I looked around.

"Alright. Nigel, it's you duty to come and get us. Okay?" I looked at him. He gulped and nodded. Louis and Nigel stayed back as Neville said the password. The gargoyle started roaring and we hissed till it stopped. It was as if we were trying to tip toe through a quiet room without waking the resident.

I jumped up the steps after Neville and we finally reached office. I felt a chill at the sight. The first thing, I noticed, was a large portrait sitting by the fireplace, draped with a black cloth. I licked my lips, walking to it. Chewing my lip, I lifted it slightly, only to find Professor Dumbledore sleeping under it. My heart constricted and I dropped the cloth.

"Over there." Neville whispered and I saw a sword sitting on a stand by the chair behind his desk. Shivering, I raised my wand and followed Neville. He picked it up gently and I released a breath when no alarm or attack came raining down on us.

As he held it up, I smirked and we headed for an exit but froze. Snape stood at the door with the Amycus behind him, holding Nigel and Louis by the back of their collars. They were slightly bruised around the face and the rage was growing like a monster inside of me.

"Care to explain?" Snape spoke up.

"This isn't yours." I answered.

"Thats for the owner to decide." Snape looked at the two of us, "And I do believe its mine." He finished after a pause. I rolled my eyes, completely frustrated by him.

"What should we do with them?" Amycus sneered.

"Detention. Drop the four of them with Hagrid. I believe he is about to tour the Forbidden Forest."

None of us flinched at the mention of our punishment. All that could radiate between us was the disappointment that we got caught. Amycus led us all to Hagrid's Hut where he was prepping a weapon by the fire out.

"You've got a few miscreants here, giant." Amycus threw Neville and I by the collar, "If they run into a wolf, don't worry about saving them." Amycus grinned and left. I rolled my eyes. Hagrid only watched her leave until she disappeared and then he set our unbounded out hands free.

"Thank you." Neville appreciated. All of us did.

"What did you fellas do?" Hagrid asked as we warmed up by the fire.

"Broke into Snape's office."

"Why?"

"We wanted to get something back that wasn't his to keep. Its... Harry's." My voice was low but with Hagrid's eyes turning wide, I could tell he caught it.
