Eddie

When I came to the common room, right before I had to go for my class, my eyes widened at the party that was being set up. A banner read, Happy Birthday Hermione!

"Hey." I approached Louis.

"Hi, Ed."

"Its Hermione's birthday?"

"Yeah. Ginny's gone to get her. The fat lady will tell us when she's near."

"Ginny's set it up?"

"Her and Ron Weasley."

"Thats nice." I grinned at the party set up.

"Shes here! The birthday maiden! The fair lady! The lady of the day!" The fat lady sang.

"Why does she make everything so... over the top?" Louis asked.

"Hell if I know." I sighed and then the portrait hole opened. Everyone scrambled together and as Hermione Granger walked in, we all yelled the surprise. She was stunned with her bushy hair bouncing back a little extra. Harry seemed just as shocked as Ron and Ginny hugged her tight. He then wished her as well and then Hermione walked the room, receiving personal wishes.

"Happy birthday, Hermione." I smirked.

"Thanks, Ed." She smiled as I shook her head, feeling confused whether to hug her or what. So I chose a shake. It always worked.

"This is amazing, Ginny." I walked to her with Louis by my side, sweating like he had too much excess water in his body.

"Thanks, Ed."

"This is Louis." I introduced him and he raised a shivering hand to Ginny.

"You alright there, Louis?" She asked shaking his hand.

"Erm, you..."

"He thinks you're gorgeous." I added and Louis eyes widened. Wow, good guess.

"Oh." She seemed surprised, "Oh, well thank you." She let of his hand slowly and he grinned nervously.

"Thats her brother, you know that, right?" I pointed at Ron.

"Hell-Hello?" Louis spoke, trembling now. I snorted and Harry was holding back a laugh as well.

Ron's solemn face, soon split in a smile and then we walked past us to Hermione.

"Well, you lot enjoy, I'm going to go bore myself with some potions." I shook my head.

"Oh, well... sorry Ed."

"No worries. Save me some fudge if possible." I grinned and stopped beside Harry, "And cake of course." I told Ginny and she laughed, nodding as I headed out.

Professor Slughorn wasn't as bad at Snape. I mean, if Snape was a snake, Slughorn would be a cat, running away from it. He was fun and always happy. We had a good lesson and I paired up with an unknown boy while Nancy and Macy were on my table, paired as well. We were brewing a Swelling Solution since Professor Slughorn thought it'd be a good way to test our skills and be amusing to make.

"Need some help?" I crouched beside the blonde staring at me with hate in her eyes as she sat to pick up a piece of dried nettle she'd dropped on the floor.

She stood up with a pout and I picked up another piece of it off the floor and placed it next to her fingers. Our fingers touched slightly and it made her jump. I just wanted to scare her and funnily it worked. Heading back to my cauldron, I got back to work, looking at Macy's red face half the time.
