A/N - Billy tells you about his condition ♡
---
We sat on the porch together, the dark sky dotted with brightly lit stars. My head rested on Billy's shoulder, his hand planted on my thigh. "Look Y/n, a constellation!" He pointed out excitedly. I looked up and smiled. "Which one is that?"
"Orion, it's one of the largest and most recognizable of the constellations and is viewable around the world" he explained. I listened as he started to tell me about all the constellations, he sounded so invested which made my heart warm.
His voice eventually drifted off. Closing my eyes, I monitored the sound of his deep breathing, it was almost therapeutic. "I have to tell you something..."
My ears perked up. "What is it, Billy?"
"I-I..." His voice quavered, I could tell something was wrong. Taking a deep breath, I waited patiently for him to open up.
"I have Progeria..." He confessed.
"What does that mean?" I asked curiously, our eyes met.
"It's also known as Hutchinson-Gilford syndrome, it speeds up my ageing process. There's no cure for the condition and I only have a few months left to live before I die of old age" I watched as the tears flowed from his sunken eyes.
"Oh, Billy..." I couldn't help but shed a few myself. My arms wrapped tightly around his neck as his hands rested on my lower back. "I understand if you don't want to see me anymore. I'm just a burden" his voice was quiet.
Lifting his chin to meet my level, I flashed him a tearful smile. "I'm not going anywhere, Billy. I love you and I always will, no matter how old you are"
The light in his eyes came back and Billy leaned in, his soft lips connecting to mine. It was a slow, deep kiss as his hands moved to cup my face. When it felt like there was no air left to breathe, we pulled apart lightly panting.
"All the stars in the sky tonight but you're the one that shines the brightest" his whispered proclaim almost melted me into pieces.
"I love you Y/n, till the numbers stop."
"And I love you, Billy Grier."
