On their way to Alcaraz mansion, Emily could not still believe that she is already looking her first ever published book in hardcover and the feeling is so surreal.
She is so engrossed in admiring the books she is holding and should was not able to noticed how big Gabriel's smile is, seeing how she is fulfilling her dream.
That glow in Emily's eyes gives him the adrenaline to make her dream come to life because deep inside him all he wants now is to make her very happy. For now he cares to nothing but only to this girl beside him. It is strange for Gabriel as this is first time he intends to make someone happy and it gives him a happy heart, too. He now admits, Emily Fernandez is someone truly special for him. "How does it feel holding the book you authored?" he then asked Emily.
Emily sweetly looks at him and asked in reply, "I can't believe you are asking me that, Boss Gab. Hindi pa ba halata?"
"Nahalata ko naman, I just want to confirm it, baka kasi you have other things in mind that can make you smile like that aside from being high-spirited because of your book," Gabriel replied.
"Other things in my mind, such as?" Emily confusedly asked.
"Such as, me, being the inspiration to your next book," Gabriel uttered and Emily could not control herself to laugh. "What is funny?" he asked.
"Seryoso ka ba na pumapayag kang maging subject sa next book ko?" Emily asked.
"Kelan mo gustong umpisahan?" Gabriel asked in reply.
"Puro ka kalokohan," Emily commented, smiling.
"I am serious, Emily Fernandez," Gabriel uttered.
"Let's just talk about it some other time, pag-isipan mo na lang munang mabuti," Emily said. "And since high-spirited ako today as you said, malay mo naman I could find the muse to start working on my next book kahit hindi ikaw ang subject," she added then Gabriel pouted and she finds his gesture really cute.
"You haven't hear my story yet and rejected na ako agad," Gabriel uttered.
"Sabi mo boring ang buhay mo, how can it be interesting to write kung wala naming kulay?" Emily uttered and got a bit surprise in Gabriel's reply.
"I am certain that you can put color into it," Gabriel meaningfully uttered.
"That is an overwhelming statement," Emily commented.
"You are a good writer, I am sure you can put color to a boring story like mine," Gabriel said and Emily prefers not to comment anymore because she has this strange feeling that Gabriel's statement means differently.
"Anyway, are you ready for the JAGC's anniversary?" she asked after a while to deliberately sway the topic.
"I admit, I am more excited this year than the previous years. A lot of changes will be introduced on our anniversary night and that includes the launch of the new books, including your book. Also, yung additional branches of DBS in Visayas and Mindanao will be revealed in the event. Plus Grace's promotion as JACP's new Publisher," Gabriel said and he saw how surprise Emily is.
"Bibitawan mo na ang JACP?" Emily asked.
"Not necessarily, I will still be part of the board," Gabriel said. "That is Lolo's decision, gusto kasi nya magconcentrate na ako sa bookstore. Baka daw kaya mabagal ang growth ng DBS was because my attention was divided between JACP and DBS," he further explained.
"Please don't get me wrong and I have nothing against Grace. I know she deserve the promotion but isn't it in most publishing company, it is the owner who assumes the publisher position?" Emily asked.
