58 - Missing her Boss

Emily is already used of having Gabriel around. Today is the first time she works and had her lunch without the DBS President and not knowing when her Boss Gab's return will be also pisses her off.

After taking her lunch, she opens again the email sent by Gabriel at around 3am. The email has nothing but the topics she needs to discuss with her sister for her training. He did not even mentioned when he is coming back, but if she is to assess the list, she presumes that he will be coming back after two weeks.

"Hindi pwedeng wala sya dito sa JAGC anniversary," she told herself. She prefers still not to reply to it yet as she does not want to ask Gabriel why didn't he tell her about his abrupt trip. But after a few moments of fondering she realized that Franco was right. She does not have the right to complain that Gabriel did not informed her about his sudden business trip. So she immediately sent a very brief reply to the DBS President, "Noted, Boss Gab,"

As soon as she hits the send button, Elizabeth came in. "Hello, Ate," her sister greeted.

"Maaga ka yata," Emily commented.

"Of course, Ate, masayang tumambay dito sa opisina eh, wala yung masungit mong boss. I want to enjoy every minute of the day na wala si Gabriel Alcaraz. That means a peaceful two weeks of my life. Wala ba syang balak mag-stay at least one year sa North Carolina?" Elizabeth gladly replied.

"How did you know na wala si Boss Gab? Bakit mo alam na nasa North Carolina sya at two weeks syang mawawala? Did he tell you about his trip?" Emily continuously asked.

"Will you please calm down, Ate. Grabe naman yang emosyon na pinakawalan mo sa mga tanong mo," Elizabeth uttered. "Umamin ka nami-miss mo boss mo," she added teasing.

"I am not missing him," Emily denied.

"Sabihin mo yan sa sarili mo, Ate, baka maniwala. Kasi ako, hindi ako naniniwala sa iyo," Elizabeth said.

"I don't miss him, and I will never miss him," Emily insisted.

"Okay, repeat that 10 times," Elizabeth said.

"Napipikon na ako sa iyo, Elizabeth," Emily uttered. "Ayusin mo yang salita mo," she fiercely added.

"I said calm down, Ate. Bakit ba ang sungit-sungit mo?" Elizabeth asked.

"I am asking nicely pero wala akong makuhang maayos na sagot from you," Emily said.

"You really are missing the DBS President," Elizabeth continued teasing.

"I said I am not missing Gabriel," Emily firmly repeated, "Pwede ba wag na nating pag-usapan si Boss Gab, at baka may makarinig pa sa atin, sabihin pinag-tsitsismisan natin sya," she futher said.

"Well you are correct, it will be a waste of time kung pag-uusapan natin si Gabriel. Baka biglang masamid pa yun kasi naaalala mo sya, maistorbo pa yung date nya," Elizabeth agreed.

"Gabriel went to North Carolina for a business trip, hindi para makipag-date," Emily said.

"Did he tell you that?" Elizabeth meaningfully asked.

"Yes, that was written in his email together with the long list of topics that we should discuss for your training," Emily replied.

"I see, pero alangan namang sabihin nya sa secretary nya and personal stuff nya. Of course, about business lang talaga ang ipagbibilin nya," Elizabeth said.

"What are you trying to imply, my dear sister?" Emily asked. "Di ba sinabi ko nang wag na nating pag-usapan si Boss Gab?" she further uttered.

"Naisip ko lang kasi, ang alam ko sa North Carolina na naka-base si Charlotte, yung dating commercial model na na-link kay Gabriel. I'm sure napapanod mo yun sa mga TVC at laman sila ni Gabriel sa mga society page ng broadsheets," Elizabeth said.
