Gabriel could not believe what he is staring at for quite a while already. A JACP contract for a person named Emily Fernandez a.k.a. TheLostGirl who lives in Bulacan. He is still in denial that TheLostGirl is the same as the girl he has in mind. She is Emily Fernandez, his grandfather's executive assistant.
He is confused if his grandfather has something to do with TheLostGirl's winning on the contest. But he immediately denies it as he knows that TheLostGirl is the project member's favorite and that includes him. If Emily Fernandez is indeed TheLostGirl does this mean Emily is the girl, he is enamored with.
Gabriel clenches his fist as he felt betrayed on what he finds out. But he calms down after a while as he realized he also has his share of betrayal. Lily does not know who really, he is. He, too, lied about his identity. He chooses to continue working and deal with the truth later. He knows his grandfather is busy and it is not right to disturb him with this concern.
He then heard someone opens the door, he checks on the time at it is more than two hours since the package arrived. "Norma called, according to her, she received the documents just in time. That's very impressive, how did you do it?" Gabriel asked.
"The universe is on my side, Boss Gab. When I had a hardtime booking a ride, someone came in my mind who I know could help me, so I immediately called him, but another angel came and brought me to DBS office," Emily replied.
"Who are you referring to?" Gabriel asked.
"I am about to call Yago when Sir Franco came and offered to drive for me to DBS office. Presto, the documents were delivered in time," Emily replied.
"Were you that close to my brother Yago as he was the first one to came into your mind?" Gabriel asked.
"Yago and get along well and we became good friends. Therefore, I thought he could not decline a request from a friend," Emily said.
"You maybe that close to have that kind of confidence," Gabriel commented. "By the way, make sure to be ready with Elizabeth's training next week," he then said.
"Noted, Boss Gab, I will make sure that everything will be ready by next week before Chef Elizabeth starts her training," Emily said.
"Alam mo bang ex-girlfriend ni Yago si Elizabeth?" Gabriel asked.
"Yes, Yago told me," Emily replied.
"I see, mukhang close nga talaga kayo ng kapatid ko," Gabriel uttered. "Anyway, this package came few minutes after you left. This is from the office of Atty. Sarmiento. I called Lolo and asked him if I can open it and he said yes. He even instructed me to sign it since I have the SPA to sign documents in his behalf," he added.
"These are the contract renewals of the printing press suppliers," Emily said.
"I already signed those, and Lolo told me that you already know what to do with it," Gabriel said and handed the package to Emily which the latter gladly accept.
Emily checked on the documents to make sure its completeness before sending it to the suppliers. "I am only expecting five contracts, bakit six ang ipinadala ni Atty. Sarmiento?" Emily uttered, enough for Gabriel to here her.
"Why don't you check on the sixth envelope?" He commented.
Emily immediately opens the six envelope and got surprised on what is inside it. Her hand shiver and she felt an imaginay lump on her throat. She looks at Gabriel and she saw a different gaze from him. She understands what is that gaze about. "Nice to meet you TheLostGirl," Gabriel said.
"Boss Gab, I will explain," Emily said.
"Why will you do that? Humihingi ba ako ng paliwanag mo?" Gabriel coldly asked. "It is very clear, Emily, my grandfather is very fond of you nagawa ka nyang maipanalo sa JACP contest," he commented.
