37 - 'Do You Like Me?'

Emily immediately turns on her laptop ang open her hang-out. She is happy that Riel is aware how annoyed she was last night and perhaps today is the best time to tell him to stop talking to her about Boss Gab.

"What made you say that I was annoyed?" Emily asked.

"You immediately end out conversation. I presume nainis ka sa akin," Gabriel responded.

"You are correct, nainis nga ako sa iyo," Emily replied.

"I'm sorry," Gabriel responded.

"I will only accept your apology if you promise not to mention Boss Gab anymore in any of our conversation," Emiy replied.

"May problema ba? Bakit ayaw mong pag-usapan natin sya?" Gabriel asked.

"First of all, I find it not nice that we talk about him, I even don't like you call him Mr. Sungit because he is not masungit. I keep on telling you na hindi sya literal na masungit. He is a strict boss and I don't find anything wrong with that since hindi naman maliit na sari-sari store and business na hawak. We are talking about billion of assets sa DBS alone," Emily lengthy said.

"Do you like him?" Gabriel asked.

"And stop asking if I like him because I will not answer that. Kung si Boss Gab ang magtatanong nyan sa akin, perhaps I will answer," Emily replied.

"Bakit sa kanya pwedeng sumagot bakit sa akin hindi?"

"Of course, sya ang concern eh hindi naman ikaw," Emily replied.

"So, if I ask you, if you like me, sasagutin mo?" Gabriel asked.

"Perhaps I will answer," Emily replied.

"Ang labo mong kausap," Gabriel responded.

"Akala mo lang yun," Emily replied.

"Do you like me, Lily?" Gabriel abruptly asked.

Emily's eyes widen and look closer to her laptop screen to make sure that she read Riel's message correctly.

"Define like, what do you mean by like?" she then asked.

"As a person," Gabriel asked.

"We have not even met personally, how can I properly answer your question?" Emily asked back.

And only then Gabriel realized that he was asking as Gabriel and not as Riel, "I mean kapag nagkita na tayo, do you think you will like me?" he then asked.

"Saka ko na lang sasagutin yan, kapag nagkita na tayo," Emily replied.

"Two weeks from now, I will be free from all this work stuff. Pwede na ba nating ituloy yung coffee date natin?" Gabriel asked.

"We will see, Mr. Chairman will be back next weekend hindi ko pa alam gaano ako magiging busy sa pagbabalik ng tutoong boss ko," Emily replied.

"Let me know kung pwede na nating ituloy yung coffee date natin," Gabriel asked.

"Are you coming back to Manila?" Emily asked.

"My work here is done this week. Then I need few more days to attend to the work I left behind. I am pretty sure I'm ready for next next weekend's coffee date kung pwede ka," Gabriel replied.

"Wala naman sigurong magiging problema, I will let you know," Emily said.

"So, does this mean that you already accepted my apology?" Gabriel asked.

"Hindi ka pa nagpromise na hindi na natin pag-uusapan si Boss Gab," Emily said.

"I promise not to ask or even mention your Boss Sungit," Gabriel responded.
