52 - Visit to Bulacan

After their serious talk Gabriel makes sure that Emily was safety home before he went back to Manila. His heart feels lighter unlike when they were on their way to Bulacan. He was not expecting that sudden turn of events. He admits feeling betrayed for a while but after hearing Emily's explanation he completely understand why she choose to hide her identity.

Since Gabriel arrived home after midnight, he wakes up late the next day and his siblings and grandfather are almost don't with their breakfast when he joins them.

"Are you all right, Kuya?" Franco worriedly asked.

"Yes, I am, why did you ask?" Gabriel asked.

"Naninibago lang ako na late ka na for breakfast," Franco replied.

"Did you go out with your friends last night? I saw you arrived at almost 2pm. Mabuti naman ang lumalabas ka na kasama ang mga kaibigan mo," Don Jose uttered.

"I did not go out with my friends, Lolo. Inihatid ko si Emily sa Bulacan," Gabriel said, and he frowns upon seeing all eyes are him. "She could not book a ride last night, so I offered to bring her home," he added.

"She's supposed to leave this morning, bakit sya umuwi last night?" Don Jose asked.

"Her father was rush to the hospital last night," Gabriel replied.

"Kamusta na si Tatay Ador, Kuya?" Yago asked and Gabriel did not like how Yago addresses Emily's father.

"You seem very familiar with Emily's family to call her father that way," Gabriel commented.

"Oftentimes, kapag hinahatid ko si Emily sa Bulacan, they invite me for dinner," Yago casually said within noticing how Gabriel reacted to his statement.

"How is Emily's father now?" Don Jose asked.

"Hindi naman sya admitted, Mr. Chairman. Uwi rin sya kagabi after the treatment," Gabriel replied.

"I'm free the whole day, gusto kong dalawin ang father ni Emily," Franco uttered.

"As if naman alam mo kung saan nakatira si Emily," Yago commented.

"Eh di ituro mo sa akin how to get there," Franco uttered.

"Pwede naman, pero baka mas maganda kung sasama ako sa iyo," Yago suggested and he gets high five from Franco indicating that the latter likes his suggestion, but Gabriel does not.

"It is not proper to just go there without notice. Lalo na at kailangang magpahinga ng pasyente," Gabriel commented.

"Then I will call Emily to tell her that we will be visiting her father today," Don Jose abruptly uttered.

"Wow, sasama ka rin, Lolo?" Franco gladly asked.

"Alangan namang magpaiwan ako. Remember, I am still her Boss," Don Jose meaningfully uttered.

"That's cool. Sama ka, Kuya?" Franco asked.

"I'm sure your brother will come with us, he will not like to be left alone here the whole day," Don Jose uttered, teasing.

"Can we just let Emily's father to rest first? The way I look at him last night, kailangan talaga nya nang mahabang pahinga," Gabriel said.

"Okay, ganito na lang, I will call Emily to ask her if we could visit her father. Kapag hindi sya pumayag then let's just do things that we planned to do for today. Pero kapag pumayag sya, we will all travel to Bulacan at ten this morning. End of discussion. Excuse me, I have to make the call now," Don Jose said and stood up. "By the way, Gabriel, puntahan mo ako sa opisina ko pagkatapos mong mag-almusal," he added before he walks out of the dining area.
