19 - She is Back

It's been three days already that TheLostGirl has not updated her wattpad story. Gabriel's anxiety is soaring high as he wonders what happen to 'Lily'. Even his chat messages for her were not seen for days already.

He is having an informal discussion with few of DBS' sales officer when a chat message suddenly pops-up on his screen. "I'm back" says the chat message from his favorite wattpad author.

"Can we continue this discussion after lunch. An important message I had been waiting have arrived," Gabriel abruptly uttered while one of his sales officers explains the sales report.

The sales team got no choice but to step out of his room to give him privacy. He excitedly replied to her chat message "I'm glad you are back, Lily" he replied but he did not get a quick reply.

Fifteen minutes after, TheLostGirl replied "Been too busy since weekend. Ang daming requirements para sa contract for JACP."

"I hope okay na lahat ng requirements mo," Gabriel replied.

"So far na submit ko na lahat yesterday," Emily replied.

"That's good," Gabriel briefly replied as he is running out of words. He finds it funny that while he was waiting for her to reply on his messages. He has a lot to tell her in his mind, but now that he is chatting on him, those thoughts were somewhat gone.

"By the way, I would like to apologize again kasi hindi ko na-convince ang JACP na hindi ang resident designer nila ang gagawa ng book cover ko," Emily responded.

"It's all right, betterluck next time," Gabriel replied.

"Naiintindihan ko naman sila eh, may certain theme yung mga book covers despite the difference in the genre. Ayoko rin kasing sabihan nila akong abusada kapag ipinilit ko yung book cover design mo," Emily responded.

"Stop explaining. Naiintindihan ko talaga, babawi na lang tayo next time," Gabriel replied.

"Promise, yung next book ko, i-request ko talaga na ikaw ang mag-design," Emily responded.

"Your effort is enough for me, Lily. Nakakahappy ng puso that you exerted effort para ako ang makagawa ng book cover mo," Gabriel replied. "The important thing is tuloy na ang pagiging writer mo," he added.

"I agree, at ngayon naman trabaho ang kailangang asikasuhin ko, medyo marami akong backlog simula nung inayos ko yung mga requirements ko fo JACP," Emily said.

"So busy ka pa rin?" Gabriel frustratedly asked because Lily's last message connotes that he will only have a short conversation with her.

"Hindi naman masyado, wala ang boss ko eh," Emily replied.

"Bulakbol ka palang empleyado," Gabriel kidded but eventually takes it back, "Joke lang,"

"Grabe ka sa akin, 10:30 am breaktime ko," Emily replied. "Anyway, kamusta ka na, Riel?"

"I missed you," is the message Gabriel entered but he suddenly halted and thinks if he will hit the send button.

"Grabe ang haba naman ng message na yan," Emily suddenly commented.

Gabriel then got the courage to hit the send button and it is Emily this time who got dumbfounded upon reading Gabriel's message. "Seryoso ba 'to?" are in her thoughts while her eyes are glued at Gabriel's last message.

"Are you still there?" another message from Gabriel came in and her heart beats fast as she could not think of a better reply on Gabriel's message.

"Yes, may sinagot lang akong call," Emily lied. "And I should go now, I need to get back to work," she sends another message.

"Tapos na ba ang breaktime mo?" Gabriel asked to at least delay the end of their conversation.

"Not yet, pero importante kasi yung call kanina, about work," Emily lied again.

"Okay, hindi na muna kita istorbohin. I hope makapag-online ka tonight," Gabriel said.

"Try ko," was Emily's last message. Gabriel releases a sigh after few minutes after Emily's last message because the more he misses chatting with her.

His thought is pre-occupied with his favorite wattpad author when his door opens and the Chairman came in. "Lolo, what are you doing here?" he asked.

"I want to visit you, apo," Don Jose uttered.

"Are you alone?" Gabriel asked.

"Yes, why?" Don Jose asked back.

"Nothing, Lolo, hindi na kasi ako sanay na hindi nakabuntot sa iyo ang bagong EA mo," Gabriel replied.

"Iniwan ko si Emily sa office ko. She needs to review the board materials. Isa pa, hindi naman nya kailangang sumama pa sa akin to have coffee with Lino," Don Jose said.

"Nagkita kayo ni Lolo Lino?" Gabriel asked. "So, when will I meet his granddaughter?" he added asking.

"Malapit na, hijo. In fact, I am thinking of inviting them for a dinner sa bahay natin," Don Jose said.

"Kailangan pa ba nating gawin yun?" Gabriel asked.

"Apparently, Elizabeth does not want to handle the business. And Lino is still convincing her," Don Jose said.

"How the dinner will help Lolo Lino to convince his granddaughter," Gabriel asked.

"Elizabeth has very few friends, baka kapag naging kaibigan nya kayong magkakapatid tumaas ang level of confidence nya sa sarili nya," Don Jose said.

"Lolo, we both know na ako lang ang may interest magpatakbo ng negosyo. Baka kapag naging kaibigan ni Elizabeth ang mga kapatid ko, mas lalo pa syang mawalan ng interest na mag-handle ng business ni Lolo Lino," Gabriel said.

"We still want to give it a try, Gabriel. Lino is very desperate. Hindi na sya kasing lakas kagaya nang dati, he needs someone to take over the business he built for thirty years," Don Jose said.

"I still don't get the idea, Lolo. But you know what's the best thing to do para matulungan natin si Lolo Lino," Gabriel said. "Ang worry ko lang, baka bigyan ako ng sakit ng ulo ng babaing yan, since hindi naman pala sya decided to take over Lolo Lino's business," he added.

"There is nothing that you could not handle, Gabriel. You have encountered the most difficult person in the industry and yet you were able to obtain the presidency of the country's biggest bookstore," Don Jose said.

"Are you referring to yourself, Lolo?" Gabriel asked, smiling.

"Meron pa bang iba?" Don Jose said. "Alam mong malayo ang nararating ng mga taong dumadaan sa akin," he added.

"Yes, Lolo. I know that," Gabriel uttered.

"I believe in you, hijo. Just use your charm, malay mo hindi lang Oo sa negosyo ang makuha natin kay Elizabeth, baka pati ang puso nya," Don Jose said.

"Leave that to Franco and Yago, Lolo. Wala akong balak sungkitin ang puso ni Elizabeth," Gabriel said.

"Tell that to me after you meet her," Don Jose said. "Baka makalimutan mo si TheLostGirl kapag nakilala mo si Elizabeth. Both of you are intelligent individuals. I'm sure you'll get along well," he further said.
