18 - Lolo Lino

Gabriel is quiet while he is on his way to the place where he will meet his grandfather and Don Jose's best friend Lino. He has been hearing that name from his grandfather several times and only now that he will have the chance to meet him.

But that is not his major concern right now. He is worried on what happened to his favorite wattpad author, Lily. He checked his last message to her few days ago, and it remains unseen. He wonders what happened to her and he hopes everything is fine with her.

"Boss Gab, nandito na po tayo. Mukhang naunahan na naman po tayo ni Chairman," Bert uttered.

"Kilala mo naman si Lolo, he makes sure to be ahead in everything that he does," Gabriel said.

"Sure ka bang hindi na kita hihintayin, Boss Gab?" Bert asked.

"Kay Lolo na lang ako sasabay. Hindi ko alam how long this meeting will take. I know you need to go home to your family," Gabriel replied.

"Sige, Boss Gab, tawagan nyo na lang po ako kung kailangan kitang ipag-drive bukas," Bert said.

"Linggo bukas, Bert, spend it with your family. Alam kong ginagawa mo ito para sa mga anak mo, pero iba pa rin kung may oras ka para nakakasama mo sila," Gabriel said before he stepped out of the car.

The restaurant leads him to the room reserved for them. The two old men he is meeting are already in the room when he arrived. "Good evening, gentlemen," he greeted.

"Gabriel, mabuti at dumating ka na," Don Jose said.

"I'm sorry, I'm late," Gabriel said.

"You are not late, hijo, we are just early," Don Jose replied. "Gabriel, I want you to meet my best friend, the famous Don Lino, Chairman of Ricardo Shipping Industries," he added.

"Good evening, Sir Lino, it's nice to finally meet you," Gabriel greeted and extended his hand for a handshake which the old man happily accepted.

"You may call me Lolo, Gabriel. Just how you address your grandfather. Kung natuloy ang kasal ni Amanda sa anak kong si Emmanuel siguradong Lolo mo rin ako," Lino uttered.

"Pardon me, Sir?" Gabriel asked.

"Have a sit, Gabriel, masyadong excited itong kaibigan ko na makita ka kaya hindi na napigil ang kanyang sarili," Don Jose said.

"What is your friend talking about, Lolo?" Gabriel asked.

"Well, since matalik kaming magkaibigan ni Lino, napagkasunduan naming ipakasal ang mga anak namin. Pero may kanya-kanyang mahal ang mga anak namin kaya hindi natuloy ang kasal nila. Nagtanan si Amanda at Santi," Don Jose said.

"At nabuntis ng anak kong si Emmanuel ang nobya nyang Arlene," Don Lino said.

"Hindi naman po siguro nyo iisipin na kaming mga apo ang tutupad sa pangarap nyo," Gabriel seriously uttered. "Let's be clear about this, Lolo Lino, I came here because Lolo told me that your granddaughter needs my help to familiarize herself in your business," he added.

"Don't worry, hijo, hindi namin gagawin yun sa inyo ni Elizabeth. But if destiny will intervene, wala kayong magiging problema sa amin ng Lolo Jose mo," Lolo Lino said.

"I'm sorry po, who is Elizabeth?" Gabriel asked.

"Elizabeth is my granddaughter," Don Lino replied. "But she will not be joining us tonight. You will meet her some other time," he added.

"When do you want me to start her training, Lolo Lino?" Gabriel asked.

"Give me some time, hijo, matagal nalayo sa akin ang apo ko. I want to spend more time with her before ko sya isabak sa pamamahala ng negosyo," Don Lino said.
