Elizabeth got surprised seeing her grandfather came home early. She is not used to see him before eight in the evening. "Are you sick, Lolo?" she asked as soon as the old man enters the Ricardo Mansion.
"I am not, bakit naman yan ang tanong mo?" Don Lino asked.
"Ang aga mo kasing umuwi eh," Elizabeth replied.
"My dinner meeting got cancelled. Aren't you glad that I am home early? Don Lino asked.
"Of course, I am. Mabuti nga yun may kasama akong magdi-dinner," Elizabeth replied.
"How's your training?" Don Lino asked.
"Everytime na lang na magkikita tayo yan ang itinatanong mo, Lolo. At syempre pareho pa rin ang sagot ko," Elizabeth said. "The question is, yan ba talaga ang gusto mong itanong sa akin, Lolo?" she meaningfully asked.
"Of course, I want to know kung kelan ka magiging ready to lead the shipping business. That is my only concern for now," Don Lino.
"You really not good in lying, Lolo. Nakikita ko sa mga mata na gusto mo akong magkwento about Ate Emily, pero since mataas ang pride mo, ayaw mong magtanong," Elizabeth uttered.
"Is our dinner ready? Gutom na ako eh," Don Lino asked.
"There you go again, iwas nang iwas kapag si Ate na ang pag-uusapan," Elizabeth said. "FYI, Lolo, maaga pa para sa dinner. We usually have it at 8pm unless we tell the cook to prepare the dinner earlier. So dito ka muna, Lolo, mag-kwentuhan muna tayo," she said and pulls her grandfather to sit on the couch with her.
"Can I at least change?" Don Lino asked.
"Mamaya na lang, siguradong hindi mo na ako babalikan eh. I also want to ask your opinion about something," Elizabeth said.
"What about?" Don Lino asked.
"Later, kwentuhan muna kita tungkol kay Ate," Elizabeth said.
"Oh, sige na nga, ano ba ang kwento tungkol sa Ate mo?" Don Lino asked.
"I asked her to work in my cooking school," Elizabeth said.
"Anong sagot, pumayag naman ba?" Don Lino asked, smiling as he knows the answer to his question.
"Syempre hindi, Lolo. Ganon pa rin naman si Ate, hindi pwedeng diktahan. She always makes sure to voice out her opinion but with grace of course," Elizabeth said. "The Alcaraz likes her very much, yung triplets, parang nakakita ng little sister kay Ate, they care for her very much. Mukha ngang, Yago likes her more now," she sadly uttered.
"Yago? Your ex-boyfriend na basketball player?" Don Lino said as if he does not know that detail. "Don't tell me, you are jealous with your sister," he commented.
"I am not jealous, obvious naman na Ate does not like him. I mean romantically. She may have a crush on him kasi nga sikat and same alma mater pa sila nung college, but I don't see spark in Ate's eyes each time she talks to Yago or Franco unlike with Gabriel. The spark I saw earlier, I saw that before when she was enamored with Clint. Though mas happy yung eyes nya ngayon kesa noon kay Clint," Elizabeth said.
"Are you saying, na pwedeng Emily likes Gabriel?" Don Lino asked but he tried to hide his excitement.
"I cannot be certain, Lolo, though there is a possibility. Pero ayoko dun kay Gabriel para kay Ate, masama ugali nun eh," Elizabeth commented.
"Gabriel is a good catch. Matalino na gwapo pa, he is also a gentleman," Don Lino uttered.
"Saang banda gentleman si Gabriel, Lolo?" Elizabeth said.
