27 - Friday Night

Though Emily gets very thrilled to meet Riel in person she chooses to understand why her coffee date with Riel got cancelled. She keeps on telling herself that it not the right time for her to meet her avid reader who eventually became her friend. Despite her frustrations on the cancelled coffee date, Emily still performs her work diligently and Gabriel sees this action of Emily.

He then wonders if Emily got excited as he was about their supposed coffee date. He did not see a bit of disappointment at her and whether admit or not he gets upset seeing her happily working.

"Are there other documents that I need to check?" Gabriel asked when it was almost end of working day.

"Okay na lahat, Boss Gab. Pwede ka nang mag-relax," Emily casually replied.

"Why are you still working kung okay na lahat? Are you not supposed to prepare to go home tonight?" Gabriel asked.

"Mag-overtime na lang ako kasi tomorrow pa ako uuwi, wala ang parents ko sa house today," Emily said.

"Did they go out on a date?" Gabriel meaningfully asked.

Emily smiles at him and uttered, "Nope, may binisita lang silang relative sa Pampanga. Ayoko namang mag-isa sa bahay ngayon kaya bukas na lang ako uuwi,"

"I suggest wag ka nang mag-overtime, Relax and watch a movie or a series in Netflix," Gabriel uttered.

"I can do that tomorrow, Boss Gab. Kasama ko ang parents ko na manood ng Korean series sa Netflix," Emily replied.

"Ganyan ba talaga ang buhay mo, Emily? I mean, I never heard you mentioned anyone but your parents alone," Gabriel said.

"Sila ang madalas kong kasama kaya sila ang naikukwento ko," Emily replied.

"Don't you have friends?" Gabriel asked.

"Meron naman, Boss, lahat sila nasa Bulacan," Emily replied.

"Don't you go out on a date?" Gabriel asked.

"I don't, wala namang nag-aaya eh," Emily replied, smiling.

"But we were supposed to go out on a coffee date tonight, ano ang tawag nya dun?" are in Gabriel's thought while he did not remove his gaze at her.

"May problema ba, Boss Gab?" he heard Emily asked.

"Huh? Wala naman, why did you ask?" Gabriel asked

"Kasi nakatitig ka lang sa akin, may nasabi ba akong hindi maganda?" Emily asked in reply.

"Wala naman, I just can't believe that I am seeing a single lady working on a Friday night. Sa DBS kasi few minutes palang malinis na ang table ng mga employees namin," Gabriel replied.

"Makulay ang buhay nila, Boss," Emily said.

"Well, since wala naman na akong gagawin baka pwede na akong umuwi," Gabriel kidded and he's glad seeing Emily laughs.

"Sige, Boss Gab, uwi ka na, baka matraffic ka eh," Emily commented, laughing.

"Don't work too much, Emily. You deserve to relax, too," Gabriel said.

"Noted, Boss Gab," Emily replied. "Happy weekend," she added, and Gabriel gives her a sweet smile before he went out of the office.

In the evening, Gabriel felt uneasy, his supposed coffee date with Emily keep running into his mind. He could not believe that Emily is unaffected on the cancellation of Riel's date with Lily.

Since he could not get a decent sleep, he chooses to get himself something to drink so he could fall unto sleep and forget about his disappointment on Emily reaction about their coffee date.
