53 - Doubts and Forgiveness

Emily could not remove that sweet smile on her face while she watches the triplets with the Chairman leaves their place. She was not expecting that abrupt visit and yet they all had fun spending sometime together. She is happy seeing how her sister's eyes sparks upon seeing Yago getting out of the car. She had no doubt, Yago is still special to her sister and she wishes that they could get a chance to sit and seriously talk about their feelings with each other.

But what strikes her most is why she could not explained the happiness she had seeing Tatay Ador and Nanay Anna getting along well with Gabriel. She never sees them getting along well with people much as how they get along with the Alcaraz' for the first time.

"Dapat sumabay ka na sa kanila pabalik ng Manila," she heard her Nanay Anna commented.

"I still have another day, Nay. Sa Monday pa ang dapat na balik ko sa mansion. Atsaka gusto ko pang alagaan si Tatay eh," Emily replied.

"Nandito naman si Lizzie, may makakatulong ako sa pag-alaga sa Tatay nyo," Nanay Anna said.

"Grabe, pinapaalis mo na ba ako, Nay?" Emily commented and Nanay Anna just chuckles. "May I remind you that Lizzie will be going back to Manila tomorrow, therefore ako ang makakatulong mo sa pag-asikaso kay Tatay," Emily said.

"Nagsabi na ang kapatid mo na sa Lunes na lang daw sya babalik ng Manila. Nagpaalam na daw sya kay Don Lino," Nanay Anna said.

"At pinayagan sya?" Emily asked.

"Malamang," Nanay Anna briefly replied.

"Hmmm, that is something new. Ano naman kaya ang nakain ni Don Lino at pinayagan nya si Lizzie na mag-stay dito s Bulacan nang mga ilang araw?" Emily sarcastically commented.

"Kung anuman yun, ipagpapasalamat ko nang marami. Sobrang miss ko na rin kasi ang kapatid mo," Nanay Anna humbly uttered and she only gain a smile from Emily. "Mukhan naming nagbago na ang Lolo mo, ayaw mo bang bumalik sa mansion?" she then asked.

"Alam mo, Nay, kanina ka pa. Nakakahalata na ako. Ayaw mo na ba ako dito sa Bulacan?" Emily asked.

"Hindi naman yun ang gusto kong sabihin. Alam mong gustong-gusto namin ng Tatay nyo na nandito kayong dalawa ni Elizabeth, pero aminin natin at hindi, kailangan din kayo ni Don Lino. Walang ibang pwedeng mag-alaga sa kanya kundi kayo ni Lizzie na sarili nyang mga apo. Kayo na lang ang natitira nyang pamilya," Nanay Anna said.

"A lot of people are working for him, impossibleng walang mag-alaga sa kanya. Lizzie lives with him so it will be too much kung pati ako mag-aalaga pa sa kanya," Emily replied and she shook her head upon seeing Nanay Anna releases a huge sigh.

"Patawarin mo na si Don Lino. Gusto lang naman nya na mapabuti ka," Nanay Anna said.

"How can I forgive him if he is not asking for forgiveness?" Emily said. "He knows where I am, Nay, and yet, I did not hear anything from him," he added.

"Anak, walang masama kung ikaw ang magpapakumbaba, matanda na si Don Lino at aminin man natin o hindi, konting panahon na lang ang ilalagi nya sa mundo. Maganda sana kung magiging masaya sya katulad ng kasiyahan na nakita ko kay Don Jose kanina. Yung nakita kong saya nya kanina, malayong-malayo sa mga kwento mo na mabait pero sobrang striktong boss," Nanay Anna said.

"Iba si Don Jose kay Don Lino. Malaki ang pagkakaiba nila, Nay. Si Mr. Chairman, hinahayaan nyang magdesisyon ang triplets para sa sarili nila. May kalayaan silang pumili ng taong gusto nila. At higit sa lahat kahit hindi sabihin ni Don Jose, nakikita ko sa kanya na mas mahal nya ang mga apo nya kesa sa kung anumang kayamanan ang meron sya ngayon. At inggit na inggit ako kila Gabriel, Yago at Franco sa aspetong yun," Emily said.

"Nakita ko naman ang sinasabi mo anak. Nakita ko kanina kung gaanong kabuting tao si Don Jose at ang mga apo nya. Habang nandito sila kanina, hindi ko naramdaman na malayo ang agwat ng estado ng buhay natin sa kanila," Nanay Anna said. "Dahil siguro galing sa hirap si Don Jose, kaya siguro alam nya ang pakiramdam ng mga nasa sitwasyon na katulad natin," she further said.

"Nay, galing din sa hirap si Don Lino," Emily uttered while raising an eyebrow.

"Naiintindihan ko, anak," Nanay Anna replied, smiling. "Pero alam ko sa puso ko na matutuwa ang Mama at Papa mo kung mag-kakaayos na kayo ng Lolo mo. Alam mo, anak, madalas mas masarap ibigay ang kapatawarn kung hindi ito hinihingi. Mas nakakaluwag sa kalooban," she meaningfully added while she sweetly taps Emily's face.

"It's late, Nay. Matulog ka na po," are the only words Emily could utter after hearing Nanay Anna's statement.

"Matulog ka na rin, maaga pa tayong mag-sisimba bukas," Nanay Anna said.

"Sige po, magsasara lang po ako ng buong bahay, tapos matutulog na rin po ako," Emily uttered.

Nanay Anna left Emily in a very deep thought. There is a part in Emily that she wanted to go back to her grandfather to take care of him. But a part of her also feels otherwise because until that very moment she does not believe that Don Lino does not know the illegal doings of Clint's family and the old man was only concern about the business he was cooking up with that was why he still insisted her to push through with the wedding.

Clint was her world during her college days. She was very enamored with him and she felt safe everytime she was with him. They were good friends. In fact he was her best friend who she slowly fell in love with. She thought he feels the same way for her to the point of accepting his marriage proposal after their college graduation.

Clint's proposal was the best day of her life until she learned about this girl whom Clint was dating for more than a year already. Then the scandal of Clint's family came up and her grandfather insisted that it was not true and insisted that they proceeds with their wedding. Until the truth was revealed, everything was just a prank and she was the sole victim therefore she runs away and makes sure that nobody among those people who have hurted her would find her.

It was only after a year of hiding that she decided to live in Bulacan with her Tatay Ador and Nanay Anna. That was the time when Clint and her father goes to jail and her grandfather stops looking for her.

Now there is this man who has been causing her sleepless nights these past few days. After Gabriel's revelation about Riel Del Rosario she started to have qualms on her friendship with him. Despite the happy moments few hours ago, she still could not control herself to doubt on Gabriel. She is afraid that Gabriel may turned into another Clint and she does not like that to happen again.
