28 - Boss Sungit

On Saturday night, after Emily had KDrama marathon with her parents, a message from hang-out pops in her laptop. She smiles seeing who the message is from. She is happy to know that despite being busy at work he still has time to keep in touch with her. "Kamusta ang favorite wattpad author ko?

"I am home, just finished a KDrama series," Emily replied.

"Bakit wala kang update last night? I was waiting for it," Gabriel responded.

"I was busy at work ako last night eh," Emily replied.

"Di ba you usually go home in Bulacan at Friday night, why were you working last night?" Gabriel asked.

"Well, I don't want to stay alone here last night. Wala kasi ang parents ko last night, may dinalaw na relative," Emily replied.

"I'm sorry, I have to cancel our coffee date," Gabriel again apologized.

"It's alright, Riel. I understand. Blessing in disguise pa nga na hindi natuloy yung coffee date natin," Emily responded.

"What do you mean?" Gabriel curiously asked.

"My Boss and I had coffee last night," Emily replied.

"Si Boss sungit?" Gabriel asked.

"How did you know that I am referring to Boss Gab?" Emily surprisedly asked and only then that Gabriel realized the content of the message he sent.

"I mean, sabi mo kasi Boss kaya I assume na si Boss Sungit. Saka sya ang ka-trabaho mo ngayon, kaya nga tinanong ko kung si Boss Sungit kasi hindi ako sure," Gabriel responded.

"Ang haba naman ng explanation," Emily replied.

"How was your abrupt coffee date with Boss Sungit?" Gabriel asked to way the topic as he does not if he could respond on Emily's explanation.

"Well, we were able to clear our wrong impression with each other. Sabi ko nga sa iyo, hindi ko na sya nakikitang masyadong nagsusungit these past few days, natutuwa na pala kasi sa trabaho ko." Emily replied.

"That's nice," Gabriel briefly responded, as he is very glad to know that Emily enjoyed their coffee moment the previous night, enough that he could not even think of what word to type.

"At mabait pala sya talaga, masarap syang kausap at may sense ang mga sinasabi," Emily replied.

"Mabuti naman bati na kayo ni Boss Sungit," Gabriel responded.

"Hindi naman kami magkagalit, hindi lang talaga kami nagkaka-usap. Sobrang awkward kasi ang feeling ko everytime he was around," Emily replied.

"Why do you feel the awkwardness?" Gabriel asked

"Hindi ko alam, basta naiilang ako everytime na magkasama kami sa opisina ni Mr. Chairman," Emily replied.

"Baka may crush si Boss Sungit sa iyo," Gabriel kidded.

"That's absurd, yung tipo ni Boss Gab, mataas ang standard sa mga girls. Ang feeling ko hinihintay nya na magkamali ako, but that was before. After our talk last night, naintindihan ko na and all our wrong notions to each other were already cleared," Emily replied.

"That's good at least you can now work with him in peace," Gabriel responded.

"Korek ka. Kahit naman ako natutuwa na okay na kami ni Boss Gab, magaang magtrabaho kung walang awkwardness," Emily replied.

"Mabigat ba talaga ka-trabaho si Boss Sungit?" Gabriel asked.

"Nung umpisa, siguro kasi ginagamay pa namin ang isa't-isa. This is the firsttime we worked together, and I have no idea on how to work with him, tapos ang sungit pa ng aura. But after a few days, slowly nag-melow na sya. Ayun na nga, okay kasi sa kanya ang work deliberables ko kaya nag-stop nang magsungit. Until last night," Emily replied.

"What happened last night?" Gabriel asked.

"Back read ka, nasagot ko na ang tanong na yan," Emily replied.

"Mag-back read ka rin, makikita mo na hindi mo pa nasasagot ang tanong ko," Gabriel responded.

"Balik ka sa part when you asked about my abrupt coffee date with Bos Gab, below that was my reply," Emily replied, and he got a laughing emoji from Gabriel as his reply.

"Ramdam na ramdam ko yang halakhak mo," Emily then replied again.

"Grabe ka, paulit-ulit mo bang binabasa ang chat natin?" Gabriel asked.

"Of course not, paulit-ulit lang ang tanong mo kasi, ano ba kasi talaga ang gusto mong tumbukin ang nagpapaligoy-ligoy ka?" Emily asked.

"Nothing, gusto ko lang makasiguro na mabait na talaga si Boss Sungit," Gabriel replied.

"Mabait naman talaga si Boss Gab, masungit lang talaga nung umpisa. But he is a nice guy once you get to know him. Dito nga sa bahay, walang akong naririnig na nagrereklamo sa kanya. Strikto lang daw talaga sabi ni Ms. Sonia," Emily said.

"Consistent ang sagot, mukhang na-capture na ni Boss Sungit ang attention mo ah. Isang abrupt coffee date pa lang yan, you find him nice already. Paano na lang kung masundan pa yun ng hindi lang coffee date, but also dinner date," Gabriel asked, and he smiles upon realizing the message he sent.

He admits thinking of having a nice dinner with Emily in the coming days as he wants her to know him as Gabriel and not as her avid reader Riel.

"That's impossible, masyadong busy si Boss Gab to invite me for dinner. Besides, we often have dinner together dito sa mansion, so what's the use of going out for dinner?" Emily replied.

"What if he invited you, will you accept it?" Gabriel then asked and Emily got mum at his inquiry.

"Balitaan na lang kita kapag nag-invite na sya. For now, I don't want to entertain that thought," Emily said.

"Why don't you want to entertain that thought, baka ba umasa ka, tapos hindi namang mangyari?" Gabriel asked.

"Ang tamang tanong, bakit ang kulit mo?" Emily asked back.

"I was just asking, tell me, Lily, do you think Boss Sungit is likeable?" Gabriel responded and his heartbeat races while he waits for Emily's reply.

"Everyone is likeable for me, walang taong hindi likeable," Emily replied.

"Grabe napaka-safe ng sagot," Gabriel responded.

"I am telling the truth," Emily replied.

"I am only asking about Boss Sungit, I am not asking about everyone," Gabriel responded. "this is the firsttime that you go around the bush. Bakit ba kapag tanong na tungkol kay Boss Sungit, paligoy-ligoy ang sagot mo?" Gabriel asked

"And why do you have this sudden interest to talk about Boss Gab?" Emily asked in reply.

"I just want to ask," Gabriel responded.

"Gusto mo lang pala eh, so hindi importante, kaya wag nang pag-usapan," Emily replied.

"It is important for me," Gabriel responded.

"And why is it important to you?" Emily asked.

"Because I want to know who you will like most, me or Boss Sungit," Gabriel responded, and Emily got dumbfounded while her heart suddenly beats so fast.

Ano na, Emily, nakakatulala ba ang hirit ni Riel? Wag kang mag-alala, kahit ako natulala. 😉😊.

I cannot promise a regular update like before as I am still in isolation.  But I will try to update once in a while, basta bubulaga na lang ang update until we are certain that the whole family is finally well and this challenge is over. 🙏🙏🙏
