71 - Heart to Heart

At night, Gabriel could not sleep as he fonders on his talk with Tatay Ador. He is very grateful that Emily's guardian did not give him a hardtime to convince him about the pureness of his intention to their Lily. But he could not deny that Tatay Ador and Franco's statement about getting Elizabeth's nod is a bit alarming so he need to plan well.

He gets out of his room and went straight to their mini-bar to relax himself with a glass of his favorite brandy. He knows that he could think straight and focus when he is relax and calm. Yes, he considers accepting Yago's offer but he should have a concrete plan first before he finally asked for his brother's help.

He releases a deep sigh upon realizing that after his unruly treatment on Elizabeth, karma will hit him this hard. "It is late, bakit hindi ka pa natutulog, Kuya," he heard a familiar voice said from behind.

"Nagpapaantok lang," Gabriel replied without even looking at the man behind him.

He heard him walks towards the mini-bar and upon reaching it, he took a glass and poured it with the brandy. "I hope you don't mind if I join you," Yago said but Gabriel did not utter any word. Instead he took a deep sigh and continue drinking his brandy. "Okay, I get it, maiwan na kita, Kuya. Dun ko na lang uubusin 'to sa kwarto ko," his brother said after a long moment of silence before he walks to leave his brother alone.

Yago is a few steps away from Gabriel when he heard his older brother speaks, "You may stay, hindi rin magandang uminom mag-isa," he gladly steps back and sits beside his brother.

"Okay ka lang ba, Kuya," Yago asked and Gabriel throws him a blank stare and shrugs his shoulder. "Kamusta ang pagkausap mo kila Tatay Ador at Nanay Anna" he asked.

"Thank God it went well," Gabriel briefly replied.

"So when is the wedding?" Yago asked.

"I still have to get Lizzie's vote, remember?" Gabriel replied.

"Do you have a plan how?" Yago again asked.

"Still thinking about it," Gabriel replied.

"You know that I am willing to help you, Kuya, magsabi ka lang," Yago declared.

Gabriel nodded acknowledging Yago's offer. There was a moment of silence until Gabriel asked, "Is it true that you are trying to win Lizzie back?"

Yago took a sip of his brandy before he replied, "Nagpaparamdam pa lang naman ako, I haven't tell her yet,"

"Ganon ba ka-sama ang ugali nyang ex-girlfriend mo that's why you do it that way," Gabriel asked.

"Not because she is frank it would mean masama na ang ugali nya," Yago uttered.

"I can see that you really are into this, girl," Gabriel commented.

"Yes, I am, Kuya," Yago honestly said.

"Then why did you break-up if you really like her?" Gabriel asked.

"Pareho kaming naging busy sa career," Yago replied.

"Is that all?" Gabriel further asked.

"She caught me dating a fan," Yago replied.

"Such a lucky fan, she was able to date her idol," Gabriel commented.

"Nakukulitan na kasi ako, Kuya kaya pinagbigyan ko, minalas lang na nakita mismo ni Lizzie," Yago uttered.

"Pero masyadong mababaw to break-up dahil lang nakipag date ka sa isang fan," Gabriel said.

"Well, she asked me to come with her to buy stuff for her new recipe, I begged off, sabi ko may emergency practice kami, tapos ayun nakita akong nakikipag-date, kaya nagalit at nakipag-break agad na hindi man lang pinakinggan ang paliwanag ko," Yago replied.
