42 - First Day in DBS

Don Jose and Yago were already at the dining are when Gabriel came on a Monday morning. He is very vibrant, and Don Jose is quick to notice it. Only then when the old man realized that this day is Emily's first day to work in DBS. He discreetly smiles as he already has an idea on Gabriel's cheerfulness.

"Good morning, Lolo. Good morning, Santiago," he happily uttered.

"Good morning, hijo," Don Jose replied. "Mukhang maganda ang gising mo ah," he commented.

"Kumpleto kasi ang tulog ko, Lolo," Gabriel replied.

"Sa DBS na pala ang training ni Elizabeth, Kuya," Yago said.

"That's the original plan. Nabago lang naman kasi nag-byahe si Lolo eh," Gabriel coldly replied to Yago.

"At may nabago rin ngayon, as requested, five months magbabantay si Emily kay Elizabeth at Gabriel," Don Jose uttered.

"Kasi naman, Lolo, Elizabeth is really a pain in the neck," Gabriel commented.

"Elizabeth is a sweet girl once you get to know her. If Emily can tame her, I believe you can do the same. Mas nagiging matigas ang ulo ni Lizzie kapag kinokontra sya," Yago said.

"And what do you want me to do, give in to her caprices? I am the trainor, kailangan sumunod sya sa mga sinasabi ko because I know better," Gabriel said.

"But there were instances that a student has a better point of view and the teacher should only have an openmind," Yago said.

"And what do you mean by that?" Gabriel said.

"Enough of that, Gabriel, Yago," Don Jose said in a firm voice.

"Good morning, gentlemen," they heard a sweet greeting.

"Good morning, hija," Don Jose said.

"Good morning, Emily," Yago greeted her back.

"Ang aga namang nakakunot ang noo mo, Boss Gab," Emily commented while she sits beside Yago.

"He was cheerful earlier, before we talk about Elizabeth," Don Jose said when Franco suddenly came in.

"Good morning, naunahan na naman ako ni Emily," Franco said.

"Yes, and to think galing pa sa Bulacan si Emily samantalang ikaw wala pang isang kilometro ang layo ng kwarto mo dito sa dining area," Gabriel commented.

"Uy, ang agang sungit naman nyan, Kuya," Franco said then he sits beside his brother.

"Nakakatakot naman ang first day ko sa DBS, bad mood si Mr. President," Emily said, and Gabriel throws a sharp stare at her.

"Good luck to you then, Emily," Franco kidded.

"Stop it, Francisco," Don Jose said. "Are you ready to work in DBS, hija?" he added asking.

"I am ready, Mr. Chairman, Norma promised to open her line in case may inquiry ako," Emily replied.

"If you have inquiry you can ask me straight. Hindi magandang istorbohin mo si Norma from time to time," Gabriel seriously said.

"Noted, Mr. President," Emily formally replied.

"Relax lang, Kuya. Lunes ngayon, hindi magandang simulan ang linggo mo nang masungit ka," Franco replied while Yago choose not to talk anymore.

"Norma is on her way here," Gabriel said upon reading a text message after a long period of silence at the breakfast table. "Are you ready to go, Emily?" he asked.

"Hindi ko ba hihintayin si Norma, Boss Gab?" Emily asked.

"I suggest, hintayin ni Emily si Norma para sa proper turn-over, afternoon pa naman ang session nyo ni Elizabeth. You may go ahead, Gabriel, ipapahatid ko na lang si Emily sa DBS," Don Jose said.
