Emily and Gabriel arrived in Legaspi, Albay at lunchtime. In their entire trip to Bicol, they only talked about how Gabriel wants the DBS annual report presentation would be. And while they are in the air, Gabriel choose to sleep instead.
Emily felt even more uncomfortable because while they are on their way to the house of Charry's parents, Gabriel is on the phone talking to the latter until they reach the girl's mansion. And despite her uneasiness she still could not help herself but admire the mansion infront of her with the charming lady standing at the front door.
"Gabriel, I am so glad to see you again, hijo," an old but sophisticated lady greeted.
"Hello, Auntie Carmen, I am so glad to see you again," Gabriel happily replied. "How are you po?" he then asked.
"We are good, lalo na ngayon na sa wakas makakapagbakasyon na rin ang anak ko sa Pilipinas," Carmen replied. "
"Yes, Auntie and I have strict instruction from her na kailangang hintayin ko sya dito before we go back to Manila," Gabriel said.
"I'm glad you came a day early, siguradong hindi na tayo magkakaroon ng chance mag-catch-up kapag dumating na si Charry, siguradong hindi na naman kayo mapaghihiwalay," Carmen commented and it makes Emily wanting to run away for her not to hear the conversation.
"By the way, Auntie, I would like you to meet, Emily," Gabriel said. "Emily, this is Dona Carmen Imperial," he added.
"You don't have to say Dona Carmen, only our workers calls me that. Hello, Emily, I am glad to meet you," the old lady sweetly uttered and give her a cheek to cheek.
"It's my pleasure to meet you, Madam," Emily replied.
"Please don't call me Madam, I would appreciate if you call me, Auntie Carmen, too," Carmen said.
"Where is Uncle Melchor?" Gabriel suddenly asked.
"Pabalik na rin siguro yun galing sa talyer," Carmen replied. "Let's get inside, siguradong gutom at pagod na kayong dalawa. Magkwentuhan muna tayo before kayong pumunta sa Bacacay," she added.
Emily got surprised knowing that they are not staying in the Imperial Mansion, "Hindi po kami dito mag-stay?" she asked.
"As much as I want you to stay here, naisip namin ni Melchor na sa rest house namin sa Bacacay na lang kayo mag-stay, mas tahimik dun at sa harap pa ng beach. Medyo busy kasi kaming mag-asawa since yesterday at lagi kaming wala sa bahay ngayon, so baka mainip kayo kung dito kayo sa mansion," Carmen explained. "Unless you want to stay here, I'll just do some quick arrangement on our schedule," she added.
"No need for that Auntie, the fact that you accommodate us here is enough. Ayaw din naman namin makaistorbo sa inyo. The rest house in Bacacay is fine," Gabriel uttered.
"Yes po, wala po akong ibig sabihin sa sinabi ko kanina, akala ko lang po talaga dito kami mag-stay," Emily shyly uttered.
"Don't worry we will just visit you in Bacacay after our commitments," Carmen said. "By the way, Gabriel, please tell the caretakers not to prepare dinner later, kami na ang bahalang magdala," she added.
"I will tell them that, Auntie," Gabriel replied.
They have just started their lunch when the old Imperial came and joined them. Like his wife, Melchor Imperial is also very pleasant. "If Charry is as pleasant as her parents, Gabriel will definitely like her. Also, I saw some of her TVCs and she is indeed very pretty," are what in Emily's mind while listening to the couple and Gabriel's conversation.
It is already passing two in the afternoon when Gabriel and Emily travels from Legazpi to Bacacay, Albay. After more than an hour traveling from Legazpi to Bacacay, Emily got awed upon stepping out of the car because a breathetaking view greeted her as the rest house is right in front of a white sad beach. "Ang sarap naman dito, sobrang tahimik," she commented.
