4 - The Basketball Player

Everyone is cheering after the three points shot by Yago Del Rosario, three seconds before the end of the fourth quarter. A perfect shoot which gives his team the championship for the present PBA season. And, it is a sweet victory for Yago as he was hailed as the season's most valuable player. During his interview he offered his victory to his father and mother alone and none among his two siblings and grandfather were mentioned.

After the game, Yago was mob at the parking where some of his fans await for him. Yago is the most photographed among the players of their team. As what his grandfather describes him, Yago is indeed the ladies' man. He is often mob by girls wherever he goes.

Emily is one of those girls who admires Yago so much. If her schedule permits, she will travel from Bulacan to Manila just to watch his games. But this championship game is different as she could only watch him via live streaming at the comfort of her room in the Alcaraz mansion.

Emily were able to follow Yago's journey to stardom. She and Yago went to the same school in college and that was when her admiration to their school's star player has started. She did not expect that the universe will be this kind to her as she could not only sees her favorite basketball player, but she has the priviledge to live with him under the same roof. She brushes-off the fact that Yago would like her as she believes that Yago may not like a boring female like her. He seems to be an extrovert while she is an introvert.

She sleeps with a happy heart that night as Yago's team bags the championship throphy this season. She told herself not to forget to congratulation Yago on his team's winning and getting the most valuable player award for the season.

A continuous knock at her door wakes her up in the morning. She immediately got up upon checking the time and she is thirty minutes late from her usual time of waking up. She rushes to the door to check whose is knocking.

"Ms. Sonia, good morning," she greeted upon seeing the smiling lady at her doorstep.

"Good morning, Emily, mukhang napasarap ang tulog mo ah," Sonia greeted back.

"Medyo po, may kailangan po kayo?" Emily asked.

"Wala naman, nagtaka lang ako kasi hindi ka pa bumababa, nasa garden na si Don Jose," Sonia uttered.

"Hala, hinahanap na po ba ako ni Chairman?" she worriedly asked.

"Hindi pa naman, kaya nga dali-dali akong umakyat dito at kinatok ka, kasi baka hanapin ka na ng Don," Sonia said.

"Thank you, Ms. Sonia. Mabuti na lang po at kinatok nyo ako. Nakakahiya kay Mr. Chairman kung tatanghaliin ako ng gising," Emily uttered.

"Sya, maghanda ka na para sa almusal. Sa garden nagpahanda ng breakfast si Don Jose," Sonia said.

"Sige po, bibilisan ko," Emily said and quickly closes her door after Sonia left.

She immediately does her morning rituals and hurried downstairs to join the Chairman for breakfast. She gets a bit embarrassed because Don Jose and the triplets have started having their breakfast.

"Good morning, Mr. Chairman. Good morning, Sir Gab, Sir Yago and Sir Franco," she shyly greeted.

The gentlemen greeted her back except for Gabriel who did not even throw a glance at her. "Mukhang napasarap ang tulog mo ah," Don Jose commented.

"I'm sorry for waking up late, Mr. Chairman, I missed my alarm," Emily apologized.

"You don't have to apologize iha, maupo ka na at saluhan mo kami sa almusal," Don Jose uttered.

"Thank, Mr. Chairman," Emily uttered.

"Are you one of those who get hooked at Korean dramas?" Yago then asked.
