12 - Book Cover

It is becoming usual that Gabriel and Emily end their day chatting with each other. They were able to talk about personal stuff and Gabriel lied most about his personal stuff like what he does for a living, he told Emily that he is into sales, but he never mentioned what he is selling. Only his age, location and gender are the information which Gabriel correctly gave to Emily. On the otherhand, Emily, provided Gabriel about her personal information the same as what she submitted to JACP. And Gabriel slowly getting convince that TLC is indeed the one composing her stories.

In everyday that they talk through wattpad inbox message, they mostly talk about the flow of Emily's story. And this made Gabriel decide to design a cover for Emily.

"What is your email address?" Gabriel abruptly asked after their exchange of good evenings.

"Why do you need my email address?" Emily asked.

"I designed a book cover for your on-going story. I hope magustuhan mo," Gabriel replied.

"Wow, that's overwhelming. Baka mahal mo ako singilin," Emily said.

"This is for free," Gabriel replied.

"Mas lalong nakakahiya," Emily said.

"Tatanggihan mo ba? Sayang naman ang effort at time ko sa paggawa nito," Gabriel said

"Why did you do it in the first place?" Emily asked.

"I just find your cover boring, kaya ginawan kita ng mas appealing," Gabriel said.

"Ouch, I hope you don't find my story as boring as my book cover," Emily replied.

"I'm sorry, did I offend you?" Gabriel asked.

"A little bit, but I more like it, I mean I want people to tell me straight what they think of my work. It is very important for me," Emily uttered.

"Are you giving me your email address or not?" Gabriel then replied.

Emily smiles and abruptly types the email address she used in submitting her entry to JACP contest. And this sealed Gabriel's believe Emily authenticity.

After a while, an email pops-up in Emily's laptop from an unknown email address, . She got surprise seeing a beautiful book cover that is more appealing than the one she used for her current story in wattpad.

"I already got the book cover, it is very beautiful, thank you very much. You are right this is more appropriate to use than the existing one," she quickly informed Gabriel.

"You are most welcome," Gabriel answered.

"Pinalitan ko na agad, maraming salamat ulit, Riel," Emily replied. "I just presume na Riel ang name mo from your email address, sorry kung mali ako," she sends another message.

"I guess that is another personal information from me, therefore you owe me your real name, too," Gabriel replied.

"You may call me, Lily. Isn't it funny? We have been chatting for quiet sometime now, but this is the first time we mentioned about our names," Emily briefly replied.

"Well I think it is better that way, we have something to look forward to everyday," Gabriel responded. "By the way, you have a beautiful name," he added.

"Thank you," Emily replied.

"Your name is derived from the flower, whose meaning is pure, passion and rebirth," Gabriel replied.

"Sa tinagal-tagal ngayon ko lang nalaman na yan ang meaning ng Lily," Emily replied.

"Seriously, you do not know the meaning of your name?" Gabriel asked.

"Importante pa ba yun? Pero ang galing mo naman, alam mo agad ang meaning ng Lily na name," Emily replied.

"I just goggled it," Gabriel replied with laughing emoji, but it did not register in the screen.

"Grabe ka," Emily replied, also with laughing emoji, but it did not register in the screen, too. "How about your name, what is the meaning of Riel?" she asked.

"Riel means, God is my strength," Gabriel replied, with an angel emoji but just like the first one, it did not register on his screen. "Can we transfer to gmail's hang-out?" he asked.

"Okay lang, wait lipat ako sa hang-out," Emily replied.

After a few minutes, they are chatting using the gmail hang-out facility. "I think this is better than the wattpad inbox messaging, ams madaling gamitin," Gabriel said.

"Parang pareho lang naman, but if you feel more comfortable to sa hang-out, I don't have problem with it," Emily replied.

"Thank you for using the book cover I designed," Gabriel answered.

"Later sa update ko, I'll give credit to 'TheAbandonedChild' for the book cover," Emily replied.

"No need for that, baka marami pa ang magpagawa 😉😊," Gabriel responded.

"Uy, may emoji ka na sa message mo," Emily answered.

"Meron naman yung dati, ayaw lang magregister sa Wattpad," Gabriel replied.

"Thank you ulit sa book cover, Riel. Sobrang happy ako," Emily commented.

"I'm happy you like it, Lily. I hope the new book cover will capture the interest of more readers. Let's admit it, there are readers who really judge the book by its cover," Gabriel replied.

"Oo tama ka," Emily responded. "By the way, have I told you that I submitted an entry sa JACP contest for new authors?" she asked

"Wow, siguradong mananalo ka, maganda ang entry mo eh," Gabriel said.

"Grabe ang confidence mo sa akin, hindi mo pa alam kung ano ang entry ko, sinasabi mo na agad na maganda," Emily responded, and only then that Gabriel realized that he his last statement almost spill who really is.

"Maganda ang on-going story mo, kaya siguradong maganda rin ang entry mo. Kapag nanalo ka magpa-kape ka ha," Gabriel uttered.

"Oo ba, pero parang hirap naman yata, north and south tayo. Bulacan ako, tapos Laguna ka," Emily replied.

"Let's meet half-way," Gabriel responded. "It will be an honor to have coffee with one of my favorite authors," he added.

"Sige, kapag nanalo ang entry ko sa JACP, coffee is on me," Emily uttered.

"Ngayon pa lang, ipagdarasal ko nang manalo ka," Gabriel answered.

"Honestly, hindi na ako umaasa, maraming magagaling na authors, kaya siguradong may mapipili ang JACP na mas magandang story kesa sa entry ko," Emily replied.

"Bad attitude, dapat hindi ka na sumali kung sa tingin mo walang laban ang entry mo. Always think positive, isipin mong mananalo ka," Gabriel responded.

"Ayoko lang mag-expect, para walang frustrations," Emily replied.

"So wala palang chance na makapag-kape tayong dalawa," Gabriel uttered.

"Seryoso ba yang meet-up na yan?" Emily asked.

"Of course, as what I have said, I want to meet one of my favorite authors. Magpapapirma ako ng authograph sa iyo," Gabriel answered.

"Ikaw ang unang bibigyan ko ng authograph if ever," Emily replied.

"That will a great honor, Ms. Author," Gabriel replied. "And it will be another great honor for me if I get to design the cover of your winning entry," he added.
