66 - Meeting Charry

Since Gabriel and Emily finished working on their presentation, they used the rest of the day exploring the city and it is already passing nine in the evening when they went back to Bacacay.

In the morning, Emily wakes up to Gabriel's voice. Her fiancé is talking over the phone outside her room. She tiptoed towards her door so she could hear Gabriel's conversation.

"I can't wait to see you again," she heard Gabriel said so puts her ear at the door for her to hear him clearly. "I am glad you came home safe, Charry, we'll wait for your driver so we could have lunch together before we go back to Manila," she further heard.

Even she could not see Gabriel while he is talking over the phone, his happiness talking to that girl is very evident through his tone, and she could not help but feel a pinch on her heart thinking Gabriel seeing this girl again.

She quickly went back to bed when she heard him hangs up, after a while she heard knocks at her door and Gabriel calls her name. She did not respond, instead she pretended that she is still asleep when she hear the click of the door and eventually opens. "Wake up, my beautiful writer," she heard him said and felt him climb the bed and strokes her hair. "We need to get up early. We have to get ready, maagang darating yung driver ni Charry para sunduin tayo. We are having lunch with the Imperial's remember?" Gabriel whispered before he kisses her on her cheek.

Emily just pull up the duvet and cover herself before she uttered, "Can we please go back to Manila now?"

Gabriel got surprise at that simple request from his fiancée and he wonders what triggers this sudden change of plan. "Are you all right, Sweetheart? Why do you suddenly want to go back to Manila? We promised Auntie Carmen that we will have lunch together and Charry arrived this morning. I am so excited na meet mo na sya," he said.

"I don't want to meet her, that's why I want to go home now," Emily uttered while under the sheets.

"What???" Gabriel uttered. "Teka nga lang, pwede ba pag-usapan muna natin 'to," he said while pulling off the sheets covering Emily.

"I don't need to meet her," Emily said.

"But she is excited to meet you," Gabriel uttered, naughtily smiling as he already had a hunch why Emily is acting that way. "All right, for your peace of mind, Charry is just my friend she is into Franco actually," he started explaining while smiling as he could not hide his giddiness.

"I don't believe you, baka ikaw ang excited makita ulit yang Charry na yan. You were together duting your trip tapos susundan ka pa rin dito," Emily said.

Gabriel turned her around so she could face him then he said, "I don't deny na kinikilig ako kapag nagseselos ka, but I hope it will not be very often kasi baka yan na lang lagi ang pag-talunan natin."

"Paano ako maniniwala sa iyo eh magkamukha kayo ni Franco," Emily said.

"Exactly, paano ka maniniwala sa akin if you will not give me a chance to introduce her to you," Gabriel said.

"Okay, but you have to promise me na hindi tayo magtatagal sa bahay ng mga Imperial, baka kapag nakita mo na yang Charry na yan eh mahirapan ka nang bumitiw," Emily said.

"Ganyan ka ba talaga magselos, sobrang sungit?" Gabriel asked.

"Yes, so you have two options, either you live with that or break the engagement ngayon pa lang," Emily said.

"I'll go with the first one, mas madaling gawin," Gabriel said.

"But the second one is better since naging masyadong mabilis ....," But Gabriel quickly cupped Emily's face and planted a kiss on her lips.

"I still choose the first one and no more buts," Gabriel said.

Emily got no choice but uttered, "Fine," while rolling her eyes and Gabriel just laugh at her.

"You need to get up now, aayusin pa natin yung mga pasalubong na binili natin yesterday," he said then he gives her a quick smark, "I love you, my beautiful writer," he uttered before getting off the bed.

"Magnanakaw!" Emily exclaimed.

"I'll wait for you in the garden for breakfast," Gabriel said while he walks to the door chuckling.

Emily is quiet while there are on their way back to the Imperial residence, she could not understand her excitement of meeting this girl named Charry who has been bugging her in her thoughts for severals days already.

As soon as they enter the gate, Emily could already see the tall lady standing at the front door. She could even see how big the girl's smile is even then are meters away from each other. "That's Charry," she heard Gabriel said.

"Mukha talaga syang model," Emily commented.

"Yes pero ayaw nya kahit maraming kumukuha sa kanya," Gabriel replied.

"How can that be, di ba marami na syang TVCs?" Emily said.

"Where did you get that? Walang ginawang TVC si Charry kahit isa, ayaw din kasi syang payagan ni Uncle ni Melchor," Gabriel said.

"Sus, baka kaya Dominguez ang ginamit nyang apelyido sa screenname nya para hindi mabuking ng daddy nya," Emily continue commented while Gabriel is totally at lost at what she is talking about.

"What Dominguez screen name are you talking about?" Gabriel asked.

"Sus, kahit malayo obvious na si Charlotte Dominguez yung nakatayo sa may pinto ng mansion," Emily said.

"Charlotte Dominguez, the model?" Gabriel asked and Emily nodded. "She is not the TVC model that you are talking about. Her real name is Charity Imperial," he clarified and Emily got dumbfounded for a moment.

Until they reach the mansion, Emily even got more mum when she sees Charry in a closer distance. The girl standing at the entrance is very different from the girl she sees on TV.

"It is not her," she finally commented and Gabriel chuckles

"I told you," Gabriel said.

"Hindi mo naman sinabing Charity ang tutoong pangalan ni Charry. Malay ko naman na hindi hindi yan yung ex mong si Charlotte Dominguez," Emily said.

"What? Saan mo naman nakuha na ex ko yung Charlotte Dominguez? We did not even dated," Gabriel said.

"Not only once ko nakita kayong magkasama sa society pages ng broadsheets," Emily replied.

"At yun lang yun, that's the only time na nagkasama kami," Gabriel said.

"Sorry," Emily said then she wraps her arms around Gabriel.

"Forget about it, at least now you know the truth," Gabriel said then kisses Emily on her forehead.

The car stopped in from of the mansion's entrance when a gorgeous man came out of the mansion. "Sino yun?" Emily asked.

"He is Edmond, he is Charry's husband. Sya talaga ang tumulong sa akin para ma close ko yung deal sa North Carolina at mameet ko si rin Nicholas," Gabriel said.
