Adventures in Pupsitting prt 2

Pumpkin walked over to her old territory where she had first met her alley cat friend. Ready for some kind of adventure that she usually would not go on if Georgie was home. "Those kids at the hospital were right Lola is the best babysitter!" Pumpkin told herself  as she continued her walk as she started to smell the undeniable smell of Diamond.

Diamond sees the pup and hisses from her place on the top of the dumpster, "Pumpkin what in the world are you doing here? Your dead meat if any of the alley animals see you here."   Diamond half growled as she jumped off and landed perfectly on the ground.

Pumpkin rolled her eyes, "Nice to see you too Diamond." Pumpkin said playful snark clear in her voice.

Diamond just growled, "Pumpkin I'm not kidding! Why don't we go to the park or at least to neutral ground." Diamond suggested before asking, " What are you doing here in the first place?" Diamond asks again as she begins to walk out of her territory Pumpkin following behind.

"Oh I ran away from my pup sitter..." Before she can continue Diamond cuts in.

"A pup sitter that just sounds pathetic what are they a baby sitter for puppies?" She said with a harsh  laugh making Pumpkin chuckle.

" Basically, and all this one does is watch TV I want to hang out with my friend!" Pumpkin exclaimed to the cat who nods,

"And who is that? ." Diamond asked jokingly as she knew  who Pumpkin was talking, but wanted to play around a bit.

"You silly!" Pumpkin said with a giggle as they continue walking.

Lola and Jenny were driving around the park as it was usually Pumpkin's go to place, but they were having trouble finding her. Lola groans a s she hears her phone ring Georgie must have just got off of work, and wanted to check on Pumpkin. Lola came up with a quick plan as she did not want Georgie to know she lost her dog. "Jenny answer the phone tell Georgie I am taking Pumpkin for an extra walk." Jenny looked like she wanted to argue, but just did as Lola said; as Lola got out of the car.

Jenny sighs as she answers the phone, "Hey Georgie." Jenny said nervously making Georgie quirk an eyebrow at the girl.

"Hey Jenny how is Pumpkin doing. Is Lola actually taking care of her?" Georgie asked Jenny nervously as she still did not like that she had left Pumpkin with Lola and Jenny.

Jenny nods her head, "Yeah they're actually out for a walk while I sit here in the car." Jenny says to Georgie who still looks uncertain as just Jenny's tone almost gave away that she wasn't telling the whole truth.

"And why don't I feel like I can believe you something is up. What is it." Georgie asked as Jenny quickly made a lie,

" Oh.. well Lola gave Pumpkin ice cream after five so that's why we are out on this walk." Jenny says to Georgie who rolls her eyes, but doesn't look mad.

" It could be worse I hoped Lola learned her lesson with that one " Georgie told Jenny who nodded.

" She did now my phone is running out of power. Got to go bye." Jenny's says quickly hanging up as she motioned for Lola to get back in the car.

"Did she buy it?" Lola asked Jenny who nodded.

Yeah, after I told her you have Pumpkin ice cream after five." Jenny told Lola who looked at her in disbelief.

" Seriously Jen!" Lola asked irritation in her voice. As Jenny rolled her eyes.

"Hey it was either that, or have Georgie know the truth, and her coming to kill you!" Jenny told Lola as she had just lied for her friend, and she was not happy about it.

Lola looked at Jenny and nodded, "Valid point. But she's obviously not at the park where do we look now Pumpkin is so small and New York is so big." Lola asked Jenny who shook her head.

" I have no idea this is a dog we're talking about. At least with kids they tell you where they like to go. With a dog I have no clue." Jenny told her friend truthfully as this was the first time she watched an animal, and had no idea where they would go other than the park.

Pumpkin was now leading the way as she was showing Diamond around her new turf. Before Diamond asked, "So how did ya meet this pup sitter anyway." Diamond asked curiously.

Pumpkin wagged her tail, "We actually met her at the hospital one of the children she was babysitting fell out of a tree and broke his arm, and the others kids ran off. Lola bumped into Georgie, and that's how we met." Pumpkin explained as Diamond rolled her eyes.

" Good grief I would do a better job at watching kids, and I am an alley cat so that tells ya something." The cat snickered as the two continued their walk.

"And this is our apartment." Pumpkin said as she scratched at the door. Hoping the secretary would recognize her so she could show Diamond her home.

"Umm... Pumpkin you know no one is going to open up right." Diamond asked as she knew apartments never let random dogs in.

Pumpkin just smirked, "Yes they will you'll see Pumpkin says as the door opens. " Hello Pumpkin come on in, oh and you brought a friend. Just make sure Mr. Potters doesn't see her alright." The secretary said as Pumpkin nods and both animals start walking to the stairs, but the secretary stopped them. "Aren't you going to need some help getting in." The secretary asked Pumpkin who nodded, and instead of walking to the stair went to the elevator instead

"I stand corrected." Diamond told Pumpkin who once again chuckled as she led Diamond into the elevator.

Jenny and Lola had searched for hours now, and it was getting dark. Both girls sighs as they look at the car's clock  "It's almost nine Jen, and we looked almost everywhere that Pumpkin may have went. What are we going to do. I know we have two more days, but it is still bitter cold and I don't want her freezing to death." Lola tells Jenny somewhat worriedly, as she would be more dead if Pumpkin was killed on her watch.

"Calm down Lola, Pumpkin was a stray before Georgie found her I'm sure she can survive a night on her own." Jenny tells her friend as she was just as much worried, but knew that it would not be any good looking for her when it was dark.

After a short elevator ride they were at their floor, and Pumpkin and Diamond got off Pumpkin waiting for the secretary.  The secretary opened the door for Pumpkin, and said, "Here you go, Pumpkin have a goodnight and tell Georgie I said Hi when she comes home." The secretary told Pumpkin who nodded and entered the room.

"Welcome to my humble home!" Pumpkin barked excitedly Diamond just stood there in awe, but not because of the room.

"How do you have  that lady wrapped around your paw?" Diamond asked Pumpkin who giggled, "Oh  that's Mary she's the secretary here, and she knows me by now. That she is just use to letting me in when I come around." Pumpkin explained as she jumped on her's and Georgie's bed Diamond following.

"Let's get some rest we'll talk more tommorow." Pumpkin say as both lie down on the bed.
