Hunting for.... Easter Eggs?

Just an idea I got for an Easter one shot. With the Whirlwind Pack and how they view Easter Eggs Hunt's. On their hunting grounds lol. It not going to be very long.

Jade and her pack were getting ready for a hunt in the park where they always hunted, but it was taking a moment to get the pack ready to go. "Tyson! Dove! Blaze are you ready to go!" Thorn calls out to the three youngest as they ran to her.  "Yep ready to go, and if we go now we will miss the crowd." Tyson informed as Jade and Diamond nodded looking to Thorn, "Are we ready to go then?" Jade asks Thorn who nods, "Yep we're ready." Thorn says as Jade starts walking out of the den leading the way.

Fifteen minutes later they arrived at their hunting spot, but something was totally off. Instead of the brownish green grass that covered the field this time of year their were these very bright and colorful ball shaped things on the grass probably scaring that pack's food source away. "What in the great street dogs happened to our hunting grounds." All six ask at the same time looking at one another before all looked down to Tyson expecting him to know the answer.

Tyson looked at them, "This is one of the only times I am speechless. I have no idea what they did to our hunting grounds. I will tell you that we won't be able to hunt prey like this though." Tyson told his pack shrugging as the pack sighs. They probably wouldn't have food for today.

As they were about to walk off though a white and pink blur of fur came running towards them stopping in front of them. The pack quickly recognize the white dog as Pumpkin who had come over to them all dressed up and some kind of weird ears that were meant to be on a rabbit not a dog. "Pumpkin what in the alleyway are you wearing!" Diamond asked trying to hold back her laugh at the dog who looked ridiculous.

Pumpkin cocked her head in confusion as her bunny ears fell off. What was wrong with her outfit? "I'm the Easter Puppy! What else am I supposed to wear." Pumpkin question as Thorn answers, "We're dogs we're not supposed to wear clothes that's a human thing. We have fur for a reason." Thorn says before Tyson looks around at the colorful objects again curiosity over taking him.

"Pumpkin while you're here what happened to our hunting grounds, and what are those colorful round objects." Tyson ask making Pumpkin smile, "Oh those are called Easter eggs you put candy and small toys in them, and then kids come to find them in what's called an Easter egg hunt."

Diamond scoffed at it being called a hunt the eggs were literally scattered everywhere and they couldn't even move not to mention they weren't camouflage at all. "A hunt! I would call this a come and eat me prey." Diamond says making the rest of her pack nod, and Pumpkin. "It's made for kids to have fun not for the plastics egg survival, and I'm sorry we're using you're hunting ground, but if is the safest place for the kids from the children's hospital to do it as it is the flattest piece of land here, and the kids there haven't had an Easter egg hunt since three years ago."

Diamond and Jade's groan as, "It's fine, but all these... eggs. Better be picked up by tommorow." Jade says as the packs turns around to head  back to their home, before Pumpkin stops them, "Wait you should join us it would be fun." Pumpkin says wagging her tail as all the dogs roll their eyes as they had heard that saying before, and it usually meant that they would regret it later, but Pumpkin was their Best friend so Diamond and Jade give in, "We'll stay, just because this is our hunting grounds. And we don't want anyone messing it up." Diamond says making Pumpkin  roll her eyes playfully, " Yeah sure... whatever you say Diamond.

It had been a few hours and it was now late in the afternoon most of the eggs had been found, but there were still a few to be picked up so the pack decided to help clean up without getting to close to Georgie, as they wanted their hunting territory spotless so that all their prey would return.

Afterwards all sat down panting as it was a hot day. Dove, Blaze, and Tyson had found egg in their favorite colors and wanted to keep them. "Pumpkin can we please take these eggs for we can play more games," Dove begged as the other younger ones nods, "Yeah we would really appreciate it." Tyson says as Pumpkin laughs looking to Thorn. "What ya think mother hen." Pumpkin ask making Thorn sigh, "You'll have to carry them. Thorn says a sthe pups barks in excitement, "We will."

It had been a few days since they saw those plastic eggs, and even though the pack thought that had cleaned them all up. The pack kept on finding ones under bushes and in trees. It was driving them nuts. "I found another one!" Thorn barked out as she tripped over a light green egg making her lose the mouse she was hunting. The other five groan starting to get annoyed with all the eggs they didn't see. And kept tripping over. Pumpkin definitely would not be able to do that again. As it seems they were hunting these Easter eggs more then their prey. Maybe Easter eggs were for hunting just a lot less appetizing then a mouse.
