Firecracker was born into his family's pack as the future alpha. But once his family saw his size the title immediately went to his sister Missy. Firecracker was always downsized for his size and it was horrible.

His father was especially cruel to his pup as he seemed to be scared of nearly everything. "Come on Firecracker it's time for your training. Firecracker's dad growled making Firecracker flinch. "No please I learned everything I need to know to be a fierce dog I don't need anymore training." Firecracker whimpered as he hated training as it was basically his father trying to kill him.

Every fierce dog has to complete this course of training your only half way through runt. Your sister is younger then you and already  three fourths of the way done." The father boasts as Firecracker rolls his eyes he knew his sister was the favorite. "I know Missy is your favorite you don't have to rub it in my face!" Firecracker told his father boldly as he was getting tired of getting mistreated and not being listen to. Firecracker didn't necessarily want to be a fierce dog. In fact he really wanted to be in the Whirlwind Pack.

Firecracker had heard of the Whirlwind Pack many times when he was out walking, and he heard it was made out of the fiercest, fastest, bravest, strongest, keenest and smartest. He bet he could make it as the bravest because he was brave when he wanted to be he had just never had a reason as fierce dog. You're supposed to be fierce not brave.

Firecracker sighs there was no way he could get out  of his pack, was there? He could runaway, but that would be betraying his family, yet when has his family ever not betrayed him? The question is where would he go. His hopes of getting in the Whirlwind Pack were high. But would they accept such a small dog?"

………

That night had fallen hours ago and Firecracker had decided to runaway and find his place as a pack member or a lone dog, either would be better than this. So he quietly got up from his sleeping spot, and quietly sneaked out of his territory. Walking past his dad.

It was late and Firecracker knew he was going to need to find a place to sleep for the night, but he needed to get a good head start on his pack otherwise they would no joke kill him. This was risky but hopefully it would be worth it.

Firecracker walked a few more minutes before finding a good place to sleep that was in hiding. He carefully hid himself before falling sleep.

………

The next day Firecracker woke up and quickly started to the hunting ground to get some breakfast. He had learned how to hunt when he was quite young due to the one day being alpha the only thing is that he didn't like mice very much, but hey a pup's gotta eat.

Firecracker started hunting making sure to keep his senses trained on his prey while also sniffing to make sure his pack hadn't come around. Then he went pack to pack. None of them accepting Firecracker because of his small size. Why couldn't they see Firecracker was a Doberman inside.

Firecracker soon started to live as a lone dog he progressed very well and became one of the fiercest in his small territory. As his father always said though "A fierce dog will always be a fierce dog. Maybe his father was right. Maybe he was just a small weakling who could not do anything but at least here he got some respect.

………

A month goes by and Firecracker about gives up on his dreams about being in the Whirlwind Pack his dreams were just to big, or maybe he was just to small... Firecracker was content with his lone dog life though. And was really starting to enjoy living alone, at least he would keep telling himself that until it was true but still...

That is until he smelled the scent he hated his pack. They must have tracked his scent or had gotten word with another street dog he had to get out of here now.

Firecracker quickly runs off trying to find a safe place to hide, but nowhere was safe with his family so close "Well mouse turds what am I going to do Firecracker asked himself as he continues running trying to stay as far as he could away from them, but speed and endurance definitely weren't his strong suit at all.

Firecracker eventually found a building with a small pipe on it no one could reach him there, but apparently smartness was not his strong suit either as he had totally forgotten the risk of going near humans.

Firecracker continue to scramble around the pipe before groaning, "Great I'm lost he growled. He continues walking for a bit until he sees a light. Firecracker knew what that mean he had almost found his way out of this pipe. He quickly scrambled the last little bit before pushing open a vent and running out immediately sliding on something hard. This wasn't gras, nor was it cement. "What in the fluff! Where are the brakes for this thing?!" He barked sliding desperately trying to stop.

When he did he crashed into something hard before hearing a growl. "Just my luck." Firecracker thought as he heard the voice say, "Who are you and what are you doing in my house!" He looked up to see a white dog just a few inches taller lying on a high weird pillow thing before flinching and nervously saying, "I didn't know this was your house I swear! I'll be out of your fur as soon as I get back over there and get in that weird hatch." Firecracker explained as he didn't want to be here anymore. Hethen sees the white dog's face soften.

"Wait let's start over who do you live with."  The white dog asks making Firecracker cock his head in confusion before realizing his studded collar that he found and used for intimidation. "I don't have an owner leashed dog. My collar is for intimidation only! I'm a packless runt you take what you can get to look intimidating." Firecracker told her in a slight growl offended that she thought he was some kind of pampered pooch.

The white dog nodded in understanding, "Yeah I know what you mean I use to be a lone dog as well, but one of my friend found me my owner, and now I'm living my best life. Also what's your name" the white pup rambled making Firecracker roll his eye starting to feel comfortable with his surroundings. "Some of the other animals call me Firecracker, and what do you mean friends?! It's either killed or be killed out there. There are no such thing as friends especially for us small dogs." Firecracker growled out confused as the white pup nods.

The white pup then asked,"Do you want a pack?" Firecracker nodded, "Of course I do,but no one will accept me I'm small and they won't see I'm one of the fiercest animals. I may be a Mini Pinscher but I have a heart of a Doberman." The white dog wagged her tail smirking, "Have you ever heard of the Whirlwind Pack." She asked.

Firecracker wagged his tail of course he knew that pack he been wanting to join it for five months now! How did this leash dog know about it though? "Are you kidding of course I heard of them. They're literally a legend. I heard they only have the fiercest, fastest, strongest, keenest and smartest in their pack. They are the most feared pack around." Firecracker barked excitedly making the white dog laugh and smile.

"You know what else other street animals don't say because they're embarrassed. The Whirlwind pack are made out of the smallest dogs, and I know the alpha and assistant alpha of the pack. I'm sure they would accept you into their pack." The white dog barked excitedly as Firecracker tried to figure out if the leashed dog was pulling his tail or not. "Wait... you're pulling my tail aren't you that would be way to good to be true!" Firecracker barked with a more playful growl raising an eyebrow in suspicion. As Pumpkin shook her head no.

………

Apparently Pumpkin wasn't pulling his tail because today he was being accepted in the pack he had wanted to be in since he was a young pup and it had been a dream so far despite Dove's pestering and whining. It was taking Firecracker a little bit to get use to being in a pack again and getting the role of bravest. It was also taking time to get use to his new name. That's right that fierce dog pack name was demolished and a perfect new name was given. He never wanted to be called Firecracker again. He wanted to be called Blaze.
