Babysitting Isn't So Bad

Hey everyone I've had this idea for a while, but haven't had time or inspiration to do it. Anyways this story takes place after The Adventure in Meeting Mal. "Good girl Pumpkin, you want a snack?" Georgie asked her white pup as she sat on one of the padded chairs in the waiting room of the children's hospital. Pumpkin just eagerly nods making Georgie chuckle alright here you go girl." Georgie says giving Pumpkin a bacon treat from the bag she kept in her backpack. Pumpkin eagerly snatched it and ate it, licking her lips.  "That was delicious. Can I have another one?" Pumpkin asks as Georgie just shook her, "Sorry Diva dog, but no more for you." Georgie says as Pumpkin whined and gave Georgie puppy dog eyes , "Why not?" This just made Georgie laugh, "Pumpkin, you know, those don't work on me." Georgie says petting the dog, before hearing a rolling sound, "What doesn't work on you Miss Georgie?" Elena asks curiously.

"Oh hey Elena, where's your mom?" Georgie asks as Elena sighs, "She's busy again, why are you just sitting here?" Elena asks, making Georgie laugh, "What am I not allowed to get a break?" Georgie asks playfully as Elena smiles, "I guess you're allowed to." Elena admits. "Miss Georgie, I'm bored. Can we play in the playroom?'' Elena asks, as Georgie nods, "Yeah sure, why not." Georgie says with a smile as Elena squeals and starts heading into the playroom, Georgie follows but is stopped when a boy runs up and says, "Miss Georgie!" The boy calls  out, making Georgie chuckle, "Hey Nathan." Georgie says playfully before seeing Nathan's mom. "Hey Annie,"  Georgie says as Annie smiles, "Hey Georgie, you working?" Annie asks as Georgie smiles, "Always." Georgie says with a laugh.

"Miss Georgie is Elena in the playroom?" Nathan asks excitedly as Georgie nods, "Yeah she is, why don't you go over there and I'll be over in a minute." Georgie says as Nathan nods and runs to the playroom. Annie just smiled, "You're good with them Georgie, very good with them." Annie tells Georgie who nods, "I try my best I love Nathan and Elena." Georgie says as Annie nods, "I can tell, hey I know this is random, but I could use a babysitter for Nathan and I heard Emily was looking for Elena . Have you ever thought of babysitting?" Annie asks as Georgie instantly shakes her head. She had tried babysitting Tessa's little niece a few weeks or so ago, and it went very wrong. The only one that didn't hate her in that family was Tessa. She wasn't a good babysitter, plus she was comfortable as just a therapy dog handler. There was no way she was babysitting again.

"I've tried before and I'm not very good at it." Georgie says simply as Annie rolled her eyes, "How busy were you?" Annie asks as she knew Georgie, and Georgie was good with kids so she was surprised that Georgie thought she wasn't good at it. Georgie just groaned, "I was working triple time and trying to visit the children's hospital." Georgie admits as Annie nods, "I figured, would you ever reconsider I rather have Nathan stay with someone he knows then be stuck with a stranger." Annie says as Georgie sighs she really didn't want to, but Annie had a point and she rather Nathan be with her when she wasn't busy then with some strangers.

"Fine, I'll try again and let me guess you asked because Nathan needs a babysitter today?" Georgie asks as Annie nods, "Yeah, you're getting too good at reading people Georgie." Annie says as Georgie rolls her eyes, "What, it's part of my job." Georgie says as Annie nods, "I know, it is anyways are you able to watch him?"

Georgie just nervously nods, "Yeah, I will watch him, and you mentioned Elena's mom do I need to watch her too? Georgie asks as Annie nods, "Check your messages." Georgie just nods, looking at her messages, "Alright, well it was nice to see you Annie. I'll see you tonight at seven." Georgie says as Annie nods, "See you then. Thank you again Georgie." Annie calls out leaving. Georgie just lets her shoulders sag. She couldn't help to feel that this wasn't going to end up going well.
