Luck Of The Irish... Setter

I'm not a St. Patrick's Day person but I had this funny idea for a one shot with Thorn and Dove which grew and I got this. I hope you enjoy.

It was a nice March day when Pumpkin had once again escaped her home and went to visit Jade, Diamond and their pack mates. It had been about a month since she last saw them and was hoping to have some fun while she could.

She had made it into the sewer where she saw the pack making plans for the day. "Hey everybody." Pumpkin says startling the others. "Oh hey Pumpkin!" Jade says walking towards her friend the rest of the pack staying seated and waiting to see what adventure they were going on today

What are you five planning on doing today?" Pumpkin questions as all five animals shrug. "Probably just patrolling." Diamond told her as Thorn, Tyson and Dove shake their heads. "You three can go I promised Dove and Tyson a hunting and stealth lessons." Thorn told her two alphas who nod. "Alright Pumpkin want to come on patrol with us Jade asked Pumpkin who shook her head, as she wanted to get to know Thorn, Tyson, and Dove a bit better as she didn't hang out with them very often.

"Would you mind if I went with them today? I want to get to know them better." Pumpkin told the other two who nods in understanding "That's fine with us as long as it's fine with Thorn."

Thorn looked between Pumpkin and then the pups she was kind of looking forward to the alone time with them, but nods, as Pumpkin seemed to be a nice pup. "Yeah it's fine with me." Thorn said while Dove  and Tyson rolled their eyes as they wanted some time alone with Thorn too.

"Alright we'll head out then meet us here at sunset preferably with food." Jade said making Thorn roll her eyes playfully. "I'll try my best alpha wish me luck I'm going to need it with those three." Thorn whispered into the two alpha's ears making both chuckle as they headed into different directions

"Thorn why is everything we're passing green today?" Dove asked in  confusion before Thorn could answer Pumpkin and Tyson replied, "It St. Patrick's Day!" Pumpkin barked out as Tyson interpreted a bit better, "It St. Patrick's Day that's common knowledge. St. Patrick's Day is when humans celebrate the Irish heritage by wearing green listening to weird music and by parading." Tyson told Dove who scoffed

"Egghead!" She barked making Tyson roll his eyes "Look who your talking to Dovey." he says slyly. "Oh I'll show you who your talking to!" Dove barked out trying to tackle Tyson."

Pumpkin looked at the two in amusement. She wished she could have lived like that when she was a pup. Acting like there was not a care in the world. And to have someone like Thorn to watch over her. But her life was even better now she had Georgie! She was snapped out of it when she heard whining.

Pumpkin looked over to Thorn who had taken care of the matter of the bickering, and who now had Dove on her back. While Dove was complaining.

"Thorn your an Irish Setter do you celebrate St Patrick's Day?" Dove asked after calming down and now getting ready to hunt.

Pumpkin cocked her head intrigued at where this conversation would head. Before saying herself "Yeah do you Thorn." At this point only Thorn and Tyson were truly focused on the hunt as Thorn growled lowly. "Dove! Pumpkin! hunt!" she says snapping at the end as she catches a mouse.

When she does Dove asked the question again making Thorn groan, "First of all I'm a mix breed I have a little bit of Irish setter in you but I'm sure it's not much." Tyson then broke in, "Actually you resemble the Irish Setter the most so you probably have the most Irish Setter in you again common knowledge." Tyson says making Thorn roll her eyes again.

"No I don't celebrate it street dogs don't celebrate anything. Plus I definitely don't believe in luck!" Thorn says as Pumpkin looked confused, "Why don't you believe in luck I can tell you there is such thing." Pumpkin says

Thorn shook her head, "There is no such thing as luck all things come from hard work Pumpkin." Thorn told Pumpkin before Dove broke in. "Wait since Thorn is an Irish Setter mix does it mean she's lucky!" Dove asked excitedly making Thorn groan, "Great now I'm never gonna hear the end of this. Thanks a lot Pumpkin!" Thorn says sarcastically before all four saw a rabbit.

Thorn quickly took charge "Tyson! Dove! take the left Pumpkin! you're with me" Thorn says as all did as told.

That day was the best hunting day they had in a while. The pack would eat well tonight. Though Thorn was about at her last nerve about this whole luck thing as Dove, Tyson had been talking about her being lucky. Despite the fact it was their teamwork not luck that they got a good meal.

"See Thorn you are lucky. You're a Lucky Charm!" Dove barked out excitedly as Thorn just continued to walk. Thankfully they were almost home.

Pumpkin sighs, "I hate to leave but I have to go thanks for the fun day Lucky Charm. Tell Jade and Diamond I'll see them soon." Pumpkin says before running off.

When they got back home Thorn laid the food at her alphas feet both looking surprised at the four. "How did you catch all this. "Diamond and Jade asked at the same as Thorn just smirked as she finally had an idea how to quiet the pups and everyone else down "Luck of the Irish Setter I guess as the pack dug in.
