Adventures of Pumpkin And Friends

Jealous

A/N: This was just a small idea I got when thinking about Jade and Diamond. I hope you enjoy.

Pumpkin was sitting at the bench with her owner Georgie when she heard barking and mewing from her left side she turned around to see her two friends Diamond and Jade walking side by side talking about what seemed to be their past hunt.

"So yeah I literally dove into the water thinking that I had finally found a few fish, but it turned out it was a scorpion and it stung my paw I could barely walk on that paw for a week!" Pumpkin heard Jade say to Diamond.

Diamond laughs, at the small black dog, "Yeah I had that happen before when I was just a kitten. I hate scorpions. We're just trying to hunt, and that make that job much harder." Diamond told the black dog.

Pumpkin cocked her head in confusion. Just a week ago, those two were still not comfortable with one another. Now they were talking about hunting. Pumpkin decides to head over. Looking back at Georgie who had a watchful eye on Pumpkin.

When Pumpkin got to her friends she wags her tail, "Hey Diamond, hey Jade what are you two doing?" Pumpkin asks her two friends who smile, " Hey Whitey, Stripe and I were just getting ready to go on a hunt. Do you want to join us." Jade asked  Pumpkin who sighs. " Can't my owner is watching me, and wouldn't take it lightly if I just wandered off with you two. Sorry girls." Pumpkin says wagging her tail sadly.

Diamond just smiles, " It's fine leashed dog . I kind of wanted to spend some time alone with Alpha Dog today anyways. It turns out we have a lot in common." Diamond told her the truth as she and Jade had a rocky start, but they had a lot more in common than either thought, and Diamond wanted to get to know Jade like she knew Pumpkin.

Pumpkin tail lowers slightly she did not like her best friend hanging out with Jade alone, because she was still afraid they would kill each other, or at least she would keep on telling herself that.

It had been a few days since the first time Pumpkin had noticed Jade and Diamond hanging out with one another. When she noticed them again talking to one another enjoying themselves. Pumpkin once again looked at Georgie who was scrolling through her phone this time so Pumpkin wandered over to her friends again.

"Hey you two. What are you guys doing." Pumpkin asked cocking her head at the two animal who turned around when hearing Pumpkin, "Oh hey leashed dog we were just going out to patrol the area. We have heard that there has been some trouble lately. So we decided to check it out." Diamond told Pumpkin in her usual snarky voice.

Pumpkin wagged her tail before eyeing Jade, "And you're doing this together why?" Pumpkin asked making the other two friends look at each other in surprise. "As they never heard Pumpkin sound like that before.

Jade then answers, " Because were both street animals, and since we both have to patrol due to my alpha rank. So why can't we do it together? Jade asked confused as she was now starting to enjoy Diamond's company. Since none of her pack really  understood the responsibilities of an Alpha,and even though Diamond didn't know anything about being an Alpha she at least knew the hardships of hunting, patrolling, and protecting land.

Diamond nodded, "Yeah Pumpkin why are you acting so strange about all this. I'm just trying be friendly." Diamond asked Pumpkin confused as a week prior, Pumpkin was trying to keep them from killing one another, and encouraged them to see eye to eye. Now it seemed like Pumpkin didn't want them to be friends at all.

Pumpkin didn't get to answer as Georgie had called her back, "Well I have to go girls see you later. Have fun patrolling." Pumpkin basically growls worries and jealousy filling her head.

Pumpkin started walking back to Broadway thinking about her two friends, specifically Diamond. She knew that Diamond needed someone to talk to that actually understood the struggles of being a street animal.

And Jade needed someone to talk to about being alpha, someone who actually understood what the word alpha means, but they were growing a bit to close for Pumpkin's liking. Pumpkin's main worry was that they would replace her with one another.

Pumpkin shook the thought off though as she went to work.

Another day later Pumpkin had sneaked out of her home to see Diamond. When she got to Diamond's territory she wasn't surprised to see both Jade and Diamond, as she figured Jade would be there.

"Hey girls, I finally managed to sneak out. How are you both." Pumpkin questions the two sitting down on the streets.

"We're good. "  Both said in unison making Pumpkin nod before she turned to Diamond. "So what do you want to do today Diamond she asks. Totally forgetting to ask Jade about the matter. Which didn't get missed by the other two animals, as Jade's head lowers, and Diamond hides a scowl.

"Well I don't know maybe Jade has an idea." Diamond says hiding her irritation looking to Jade who tail wagged a little bit, before Pumpkin intervened, "Diamond I actually wanted some time alone with you, without Jade." Pumpkin says looking at the pug who had shrunk despite her already small size.

Diamond was at loss for words. Pumpkin the sweet pup she knew. Would have never said anything like that. Diamond had just gotten Jade to trust her, and now her own friend was treating her likes she's nothing. "Pumpkin I..." Before Diamond could finish Jade had cut in, "Diamond it's fine I have to go check on my pack anyways I'll talk to you tomorrow okay?" Jade asks sadly and guiltily as she didn't want either of her friends to fight because of her. She wasn't worth being fought for.

Diamond sighs seeing her new friend clearly dissapointed despite the fact she was trying to hide it. Before turning to her, "Jade wait..." Before Diamond could even finish her sentence Jade was gone like the mist. Diamond then turned to Pumpkin growling.

"Pumpkin why did you act like that towards our friend? She has done nothing wrong." Diamond asked confusion and anger filling her voice making Pumpkin gulp as a mad Diamond was not a good sight. "I was saving you two from hurting each other." Pumpkin told Diamond plainly making Diamond roll her eye.

"Yeah sure, both Jade, and I have gotten over that, and you know what I think you're jealous." Diamond told Pumpkin who shook her head, " Why would I be jealous of you two." Pumpkin asks Diamond who once again rolls her eyes, "Because I felt the same way when you started hanging out with Treasure." Diamond told Pumpkin who cocked her head.

"Really?" Pumpkin questions as Diamond nods, "Yeah, you hung out with her so much that it felt like you forgot about me, and I'm sorry if Jade and I made you feel that way you'll always be are best friend, but that does not excuse how you treated Jade." Diamond told Pumpkin who looked  down and sighs, " I'm sorry we made you feel that way, and yeah I owe Jade an apology. I'll be back Pumpkin says jumping into the drainage pipe, and immediately seeing the black pug who was trying to stay hidden.

"Jade wait." Pumpkin says quickly catching up to the small black dog who looked at her unhappily, "What do you want Jade asked growling as Pumpkin had hurt her feelings, and she didn't feel like dealing with Pumpkin right now.

Pumpkin looks Jade in the eyes gulping, "Jade I'm sorry for treating you that way. I was just jealous of the friendship you and Diamond had. I really love if you joined us today." Pumpkin told the pug who looked up from the ground.

"You mean that."  Jade asked worriedly making Pumpkin feel even guiltier as Jade didn't believe her. "Yes I mean it now will you come please." Pumpkin basically begged making the smaller dog wag her tail. " I forgive you Whitey and of course I'll join I'm always up for an adventure!" Jade says enthusiastically, as Pumpkin laughs and rolls her eyes at the nickname glad she could change Jade's mood so quickly.

"Alright then let's go enjoy ourselves." Pumpkin says leading the way out of the tunnel.
