It was another day off for Pumpkin, but instead of hanging out with Diamond she was talking with her sister Treasure instead. Treasure had told Pumpkin that today was Diamond's birthday, and though alley cats did not celebrate birthdays they still wanted to do something special for her.

"So what should we get her?" The question rang out in Pumpkin's small home. Pumpkin looked to Treasure who had asked the question. "I don't know what to get her. She never mentioned anything well about anything. I don't know what she would like." Pumpkin told the cat standing up, and stretching on the bed. "Come on let's go find Diamond it is her birthday let's see what she wants to do." Pumpkin barked enthusiastically making Treasure laugh. "Alright sure let's go find Diamond." Treasure says as both animals walk out the door.

Meanwhile Diamond was doing her daily hunt, enjoying the sunny weather, and using it as an advantage to camouflage herself from her prey. She knew today was her birthday, of course every animal could tell when their birthday was, but Diamond never really celebrated it before, but she didn't have to she was an alley cat she could do whatever she wants whenever she wanted. A birthday was just another ordinary day for Diamond, and all she wanted to do was to spend some time alone.

Between Treasure and Pumpkin; Diamond rarely got time alone anymore, and it was starting to get on her nerves. She misses her time alone without having a constant conversation with one of those two. She also misses the quiet, she was a loner after all if she wanted the constant attention she would have found herself an owner quite a while ago.

Diamond sneaked up on the innocent mouse that she had been hunting; making sure she was still downwind from her unknowing prey. Before she could make a successful kill; a random dog barked scaring her breakfast away, "Great there goes my breakfast!" Diamond told herself madly as she stands up scenting for any other prey she could hunt finally settling for the smell of a rat. It wasn't her favorite meal, but it would have to do.

Pumpkin and Treasure were walking through Broadway park as it was usually Diamond's hunting grounds, and she should be there at this time of day. "Hey where do you think Diamond is. She usually would have snuck up on me by now." Pumpkin asked Treasure who shrugged. She had only reunited with her sister a few months prior and Diamond was not the type to talk about these kind of things. "I don't know, but look at that flower I think Diamond would love it."

Diamond could hear her two friends and groaned as she lost her meal again. "Today just isn't my day." Diamond told herself as she jumps into a tree and sighs. She loved her sister and her best friend, but she needed time alone today.

Her tree hiding place did not last very long, since Pumpkin had a very keen nose, and they were soon talking to her. "Hey Dia, happy birthday sis." Treasure tells Diamond who groans, "Hey Treasure, and don't acknowledge my birthday please it's bad luck for us alley cats." Diamond told them trying to keep her irritation at bay.

"So what do you want to do today alley cat?" Pumpkin asked the cat who once again stifled a groan. "For you two to leave me alone for the day." Treasure looked at the her sister confused, "No one wants to be alone on their birthday." Treasure told Diamond, as Pumpkin wagged her tail getting an idea. "How about we go on a hunt together." Diamond suppressed an eye roll, she really was in no mood for this, but she was trying to be kind to the two other animals. "Yeah a hunt sounds nice." Diamond says fake enthusiasm in her voice as she led the way to another hunting ground.

The hunting did not go well, and Diamond was about on her last nerves with the two leashed animals. They had lost all their food due to Pumpkin and Treasure being to loud or not keeping down wind, and now not only was Diamond annoyed she was starving. She needed to get away from everyone for a bit. She needed to truly be alone.
