Roxy pov

You know, after a back to back, double booked, twelve hour shift, sometimes I just want to go home and relax, and get some sleep before I have to go back in tomorrow and do it all again. Which is why, the person who is stood on the opposite side of my door, banging on it at three thirty in the fucking morning is going to be getting a very powerful taste of my baseball bat.

Being a doctor with anger issues can be very difficult at times. I take meds to keep my anger at bay while at work, but in my home I see no need to take them. I also have never expected to be woken up at this ungodly hour by a mind-numbingly repetitive pounding in my door.

I slowly got out of my bed and trudged to my locked door. I grabbed my baseball bat on the way there. Partly because my threat was serious, but also this being one of the downsides of living in New York, you never know who you are opening the door to.

To say I was surprised as to who was at my door was an understatement. But I was definitely pissed to say the least.

"What the fuck are you doing here? And what do you want?" I asked as I opened the door for him to come in, and leant forward, resting my hand on the bat I still had a firm grip on.

"What are you doing with that?" He asked as he lightly shook his body from the rain that has accumulated outside. Are you a fucking dog?

"Oh this? I'm about to lightly massage a detectives skull with it, but other than that I just have it laying around for decoration." I said sarcastically as I turned the light on.

I turned around to see him smirking as his eyes trailed down my body. It had only just occurred to me that I opened the door to him in a pair of black short shorts, and a sports bra.

"What do you want Hossler?" I asked as I walked back into my room to get a pair of sweatpants on and a zip up hoodie. I walked back out to see him touching all of the stuff in my living room. "I highly suggest you put that down, unless you want me to hit you round the head with my baseball bat." I threatened as I watched him jump slightly. "I'll ask for the third time: what the fuck do you want." I asked in a harsh tone as he turned to face me.

"Are you still with that douchebag you call a boyfriend?" He asked as he searched around my apartment for any sign of Liam, my boyfriend.

"Not that it's any of your concern, but yes I am. Not for long, but for the time being, yes I am still with him." I said as I leant against my counter top. "Why do you want to know?" I asked as I crossed my arms across my chest.

"Why do you live in a place with no security?" He asked not answering my question as he sat down on my couch. Sure, make yourself at home.

"You see, unlike you, I make my own way in life. I have a job that pays me money. I don't just get stuff handed to me because of who my father is. The most I'd get because of him is a death sentence from a lot of bad people he pissed off in his lifetime. I have better things to spend my money on than chauffeurs and expensive penthouses Jaden." I said in a bored tone as he scoffed at my words.

"You make more than me Roxy, I know you can afford something better than this dump." He replied in a judging tone.

"And how would you know how much I earn?" I asked as I sat down on the floor to pet my dog.

"You can find out a lot of things when you're a police officer." He smirked as he leant his head back on his hands.

"You're hardly a police officer, I highly doubt you are even qualified to do your job. You only have that job because your dad paid big money for you to have his job." I said as I watched him shift in his seat when Rebel, my dog, curled up on the sofa near him.

"What is your obsession with how I got my job Miss Hawthorne? Despite my dad getting me this job, I do actually have to do work and study for this shit. I went to college and got a basic degree to get where I am. I may not be like you, becoming head doctor at a big hospital like Murdochs, but I still worked to be where I am." He said as he shifted away again as Rebel moved closer to him. So he's scared of dogs.

"Anyway, is there actually something you wanted from me? Or do you just enjoy depriving doctors of their sleep?" I asked as I stood up and walked back to my room, not prepared to continue this conversation of he had no reason for it to exist.

"Yes actually there is. I need to know where Cameron is." He said as he followed me.

"I have no fucking clue. Last time I saw him was a week ago. Now can you kindly piss off so I can sleep. Please let the door hit you on the way out. If the dog gets out, you have to bring her back in." I said as I got under my covers after having removed my sweatpants and hoodie, and turning the light off.

"Come one Roxy. I just need you to do this one thing for me. My team can't find him. Where is he likely to be?" I felt my anger start to bubble as he was still stood in my bedroom.

"Oh my fucking god. What part didn't you hear? I told you I haven't heard from him. I have no fucking clue where he could be because I don't talk to him other than when he's fucking me. So for the love of god get the fuck out of my apartment, or I swear on Jesus' name and all things fucking holy you won't make it to sunrise." I shouted at him. He laughed but remained in his place. What the fuck is funny?

"You know, you really need to get your anger in check Rox, it can fuck with a lot of things if you let it bubble over at the wrong people." He said nonchalantly as he ran his fingers through his hair.

I huffed. It was obvious he wasn't going to leave on his own accords, so I'd decided to be the charitable person I am, and help him get there. I stood up, and walked over to where he was stood. His eyes trailed down my body once again, and I watched as he wet his lips with his tongue.

He looked back up to see my unamused look, he gave me a weak smile. I squinted my eyes at him before showing a sarcastic smile. It very quickly dropped when I reached my hand up and got a tight grip on his ear. He winced as I started to pull his ear as I walked towards my door.

"This is assault Roxy." He said as I walked through my kitchen his ear still between my fingers.

"Sue me bitch. I fucking dare you." I replied as I reached my door and let go of his ear. He stood up straight to see me with a sour look on my face and my arms across my chest.

"That was hot." He laughed. This only angered me more as I reached behind me to grab the baseball bat, with the full intent of using it. He widened his eyes at my actions and quickly scurried out the door.

"I'll just talk to you later." He laughed as I stood at the door, watching to make sure he left. He gave me a small wave when he recached the end of the hall. I stuck my middle finger up at him and he laughed as he entered the elevator.

Fucking asshole.
