Roxy pov
Wanna know what sucks? Being stuck in a house with a four year old, and on the verge of giving birth.
That's right.
My water just broke. And I'm here, alone, with Leela. I didn't know who I should call first. If I should call Jaden and tell him his baby is ready to come out, or call Amber for her to come and watch over Leela.
"Hey Amber." I breathed out as she answered the phone.
"Roxy baby, how are you my dear?" She asked as her voice came through the phone.
"Oh me? I'm fine, yep just great." I groaned as I felt a small contraction. "Just out of curiosity, how fast can you get here?" I asked as I gripped onto the counter for support.
"Uh, I'd say it'd take me ten minutes or so-"
"Good, I mean this in the nicest possible way, but I need you to get in your fucking car and drive here right now." I cut her off.
"Why? Is everything okay?" She panicked as I heard rustling in the background.
"For now it is, but I'm kind of about to give birth."
"Oh my gosh, okay. We'll be there as soon as we can darling." She rushed as I heard an engine start.
"Thank you." I said as I hung up.
I put the phone down and groaned as another wave of pain travelled through my body. I picked up my phone again and dialled Jaden's number.
"Rox, I'm in a meeting right now, can this not wait a while?" Is the first thing he said to me.
"Nope. Not really. Birth doesn't work that way asshat." I said to him.
"What do you mean?" His voice asked.
"How the fuck are you a detective? Do I really need to spell it out for you? I'm in fucking labour." I sort of shouted at him.
"I'm on my way to get you and then we'll go to the hospital." He said as I heard doors slam shut on his end of the phone.
"You fucking better be." I groaned as yet another contraction came along.
"I'll be there soon, I love you." He assured as heard his engine start.
"Fuck off." I groaned as I heard him laugh lightly before he hung up.
I was trying to regulate my breathing, and keep myself from not ripping every picture frame off the walls, when Leela came bounding in.
"Mommy, can you do this with me?" She asked as she held up a puzzle box.
"Not right now baby, maybe later." I said to her.
"But please." She whined, just adding to my headache.
"Not now Leela." I said through gritted teeth, trying not to shout at her.
"Why?" She whined again.
"Leela, please just go and play in the other room." I instructed as I breathed out to calm my growing anger.
"But I don't want to, I wanna play now." She demanded as she stomped her foot.
"And I fucking said no, Leela. What don't you understand about that?" I asked as I felt my anger bubble over. I didn't shout at her, but you could tell by the strain in my voice that it was very hard not to.
"I hate you. Why won't you play with me?" She shouted as she stomped her foot.
"Leela Hossler. Don't you dare disrespect your mother. Apologise now." Jaden demanded as he walked further into the kitchen, with his parents behind him.
"She's not my mom." Is all she said.
Everyone in the room gasped at what she said, except for me and her. She looked as if she hadn't said anything wrong, meanwhile, I felt my heart break. The thought of knowing that she could do that whenever she wanted, broke me.
"Ahhh fuck." I cried as I felt another sharp pain in my stomach.
"Leela, go with grammy and grandpa right now, and don't you dare touch any of your toys. Roxy, come on we're gonna go to the hospital." Jaden said as he came over and wrapped his arms around my shoulder.
The drive to the hospital was painful. Something didn't feel right, and I had a feeling that this wouldn't go as smoothly as I hoped it would.
When we got to the hospital, Peter took us to a room in the secluded part of the hospital, and I was soon hooked up to machines and in a hospital gown.
"How you feeling baby?" Jaden asked as he ran his hand up and down my back.
I was currently bent over slightly, leaning against the bed to slow the pains down. He was sat on the bed and my arms were wrapped around his waist as I leant my chest on his legs.
"While we're here we should get you a fucking vasectomy." I replied, in between my groans of pain.
"No no, we're here for you." He joked lightly, but I could sense the nervousness in his voice.
"Can you call for Cass please?" I asked as I unwrapped my arms from his waist and stood up.
"Yeah, I'll be back." He said as he quickly stood up and speed walked out of the room.
He came back pretty quickly with Cassie trailing behind him. I stood up properly and sat on the bed. She checked everything over, and noticed how I still wasn't dilating properly.
"Cass, we're gonna have to do an emergency c-section if this takes too long. Soon it'll be a decision between mommy or baby if we don't work quickly." I said to her as she checked my IV.
"I'm not going to let it get to that babes. You will deliver this baby the way you were meant to. You're almost eight centimetres which is good. You should be delivering this baby within the next two hours." She grinned as she gave a buzzer to Jaden. "If anything changes, buzz that and it'll page me." She explained as he nodded.
I waited for her to leave the room before turning to Jaden.
"She's being stubborn. If it comes down to it, please choose the baby. I don't want all of this to be for nothing." I said to him in all seriousness.
"It's not going to come down to it. I know the wait is long, but she'll be here soon, I promise. Like she said, you're at eight centimetres, only two more to go, and then she'll be here." He dismissed as he sat down next to me.
"No, you don't fucking get it. It's not going to- ahh." I was cut off by a bone crushing feeling in my legs.
