Roxy pov
"Jesus dude. Who put a stick up your ass?" I asked as his stone faced has yet to move.
"Hilarious Roxy." He sniped.
Doctor Matthew Henford, the doctor who is just below me in our field. He's always trying to get my spot in Murdochs, but he never can. He absolutely hates me for the simple fact that I'm better than him.
"Oh come on Matthew, we're buddies. Lighten up." I smiled as he scoffed.
"You can be discharged." Is all he said before he left.
"Well he was a poopy head." Leela spoke as she was watching the door.
"What's up with him?" Jaden asked as he sat back up and standing up.
"Oh him? He hates me because I'm so much better than him. No I'm joking, he's been stuck behind me ever since I joined this hospital even though he's been here like two years longer than me. He hates that he can't get higher than me." I explained as I stood up and changed into the sweatpants and hoodie that Peter had gotten me from my apartment.
"Are you sure you're going to be okay?" He asked as he turned around to let me change.
"Yes, I'll be just fine." I said to him as I put the gown back on the bed.
"Well I don't want you to be 'just fine'-"
"If you're worried about me doing it again, I won't I promise." I reassured.
"Please let me give back the money." He protested as I walked to the front to sign the discharge papers.
"No." I said simply.
"Rox-"
"Goodbye Mr Hossler, goodbye baby Hossler. I will see you next week for what should hopefully be your final surgery. Goodbye my darlings." I said as I walked out of the hospital doors and on my way to Central Park.
I wanted to stop by the gardens on my way back, mainly because I wanted to spend time in the gardens, but also because I know the train wreck I'm going to have to go back to. And I don't want that.
When I got there, I went and sat on the hill. I was looking out when I saw two faces that looked oddly familiar to me, but I couldn't figure out why. They were just looking at me, or in my direction. I shrugged it off and just continued to enjoy the peace.
Until it was broken...
"Hey sis." His voice still lingers through my brain. A permanent imprint.
"Hello Liam." I smiled as I saw him stood there. Still that fifteen year old boy.
"Really? Still can't give me an 18 year olds body?" He asked as he sat down next to me.
"What does it matter to you? You're dead." I laughed simply as I look out on the horizon.
"But still. I don't want to be that fifteen year old." He jokingly whined.
"Liam." I chuckled sternly. "I can't believe they tried to take you away from me." I sighed as I picked at the grass.
There's another reason I never took my meds. They stopped me from seeing him, the illusion of seeing him. I know it's destructive, but I'm happy that I still get to talk to him. Even if I'm effectively just talking to myself.
"I know it's unbelievable." He sighed as he brought his knees to his chest. "Oi oi, there goes loverboy." He smirked as he pointed out to the policeman and his daughter walking along the path.
I smiled as I watched her skip along before running back into his open arms. She smiled so hard as he lifted her up and kissed her cheeks. Oh how that should be me.
"No. It shouldn't be you. That miscarriage was a blessing in disguise. He was a manipulative asshole and it would've just caused you and that unborn child so much more pain." Liam dismissed.
"How did yo-"
"I'm in your head Rox, I know everything you think before you even think it." He said as he looked at me.
"Ro Ro."
"Please don't." I whispered as I watched his body start to fade.
"I'll see you sooner than you think, big sis." He smiled as he waved and vanished from my sight.
I was broken from my trance by two little arms wrapping themselves around my neck. The impact of which she hit me at sent me flying back and her to lay on top of me.
"Ah, hello munchkin." I laughed as I looked to see her bright blue eyes in my sight.
"Hi Ro Ro." She shouted, making me wince due to how close she was.
"Leela, you don't need to shout." Jaden laughed from behind her. "I'm sure Ro Ro can hear you." He said as he sat down next to us.
"Can you hear me Ro Ro." She whispered in my ear.
"Yes I can hear you Lee Lee." I whisper shouted back to her as I sat up. "Now what are you doing walking through Central Park at this fine hour?" I laughed as she attempted a cartwheel on the grass but fell onto her bottom.
"Daddy took me to the fish place." She said as she ran up behind Jaden and wing her arms around his neck. "We saw penguins." She shouted out of excitement.
"Baby, please don't shout in daddy's ear." Jaden said as he held onto her little hands. "What else did you see at the aquarium baby?" He asked her.
"We saw lots of fishes and a shark. Daddy got scared when we saw the whale." She giggled guiltily.
"Did he?" I fake gasped as Jaden rolled his eyes at me.
"No, he didn't. Lee Lee, if I remember correctly, it was you that got scared when we saw the whale." He laughed.
"I don't think you're remembering correctly then daddy." She dismissed as she tapped his head with her fist a few times. "Hmm, just what I thought; hollow. Doctor Ro Ro, what do we do?" She said in all seriousness as Jaden's jaw dropped and I started to gasp for air at how much I was laughing.
"You will be the death of me Leela Hossler." I managed to choke out when I started to calm down a little bit.
