"Oh my god, Lee Lee, what's wrong?" I asked as I sat up and brought her to sit on my lap.

"I was with daddy at the park, and uhm the paper I was drawing on blew away. Daddy always told me it was bad to litter, so I went to go and get it, but the wind kept taking it away. And now I can't find the paper or daddy." She cried as she dug her head into my chest.

"You say daddy is here with you?" I asked as I pulled my phone out.

She nodded against my chest as her tears soaked through my shirt. I opened my phone and went to Jaden's contact. On the first three times I tried to call him he declined, obviously more interested in looking for his daughter, which is understandable. He answered on the fourth time I called and was not too happy about it.

"Can this not wait? I've declined this call three times because I have more important things to deal with right now." He said in an annoyed but also panicked tone.

I decided it would be best to give Leela the phone after that little outburst, so it would calm them both down. Him hearing her voice would let him know she's safe, and her hearing his voice would let her know he isn't far away. But I put it on speaker phone so if he wanted to talk to me then he could as well.

"Daddy?" She asked as she looked at the name at the top of my phone screen.

"Oh my god. Baby, where did you go?" He asked as a sigh came through the phone.

"I want you here." She cried to him.

"Okay baby, give the phone back to Ro Ro, and I'll come to where you are." He instructed.

I took the phone off of speaker and held it to my ear, as my other arm wrapped more around Leela to shield her from the strong gush of wind that had just picked up. But she was more occupied with the dogs.

"Hey." I said.

"I am so sorry. Where are you?" He rushed as he continued to mutter apologies to me.

"Jaden. Calm down, it's fine. I understand. We're up the top of the hill, where I normally sit." I explained calmly as I felt Leela play with the rings on my finger.

"Jesus. Okay. I'll be up there in a minute. Again I'm sorry."

"Stop fucking apologising and move your ass. I'll see you in a minute." I laughed.

"Okay, I'll see you in a minute." He repeated and hung up the phone.

"Is daddy coming here?" Leela asked as she looked up at me. She still had tears streaming down her face, and her bottom lip quivered slightly.

"Yes baby, he'll be here very soon." I said as I stroked her hair.

She leant into my chest and wrapped her arms around me. She had stopped verbally crying, but she still had tears running down her face. The only way I could tell was by the wet patches that were now seeping through my shirt.

It wasn't long before Jaden's figure had appeared in the distance. I waited for him to get a little bit closer, before I told Leela, who had her head buried into my chest.

"Lee Lee, look over there." I said getting her attention as I pointed to Jaden's general direction.

"Daddy." She gasped as she got out of my grip and started running towards him.

He bent down and picked her up as she got closer to him. He held her back as she wrapped her little legs around him, and dug her head into his shoulder. I couldn't hear what was being said, but all I do know is that I had to stop Cream and Pepsi from running after Leela. Jaden started to walk over to me, with Leela still in his grasp. He sat down next to me, placed Leela on his lap.

"Thank you and I'm sorry for being so rude on the phone." He said as he looked at me.

"Apologise one more time and I'll sew your lips together. I understand why you were so snappy, so all is forgiven." I laughed as he nodded.

"What happened princess?" He asked as he turned to look at Leela who was resting her head against his chest. She sat up and looked at him.

"Well when I was drawing, one of the papers flew away, and you were talking to the other policeman, so I went to go and get it, but when I got closer the wind took it further away. And then I couldn't see it anymore, but I also couldn't see you anymore and didn't know my way back. So I started to walk around to find you, and when I couldn't I kept on walking around until I saw the doggies and Roxy. I'm sorry daddy, I didn't mean to." She cried as he wrapped his arms around her to calm her down.

"It's okay baby, I'm not mad. I'm just happy your safe." He whispered to her as he kissed her head. "Do you want to go home?" He asked her softly as he lifted his head to look over the view. She nodded her head against him. He looked to me, almost as if he was asking for permission.

"She needs to go home." Is all I said to him.

He nodded and stood up. He shifted Leela so that she was on his back and cuddling his neck. He then turned to me, and pulled me to stand up. He wrapped his arms around me and put his head on my shoulder.

"Thank you for keeping her safe." He whispered to me.

"Don't mention it." I whispered back as he pulled away. He quickly pecked my lips and stepped back.

He whispered to Leela and she lifted her head and waved at me. I waved back and watched them walk off. I sat back down on the grass, and felt a presence next to me.

"He loves you." They said.

"Oh, I'm not so sure about that Edith." I denied.

"Roxy, in the 65 years I have been on this Earth, I have never seen someone look at another with so much love and passion as he does for you. Just because you can't see it, doesn't mean it's not there. Always remember that dear." She said as she patted my back.

I smiled at her and nodded. She then got up and walked away, leaving me alone with my dogs, once again.

He doesn't love me.

Right?
