Roxy pov
When I woke up, my head was spinning. I could hear faint voices, but I couldn't tell who they belonged to. I also felt someone running their fingers across my third knuckles, twisting the ring on my finger.
I opened my eyes to allow myself to adjust to the room. When my vision was no longer blurry and I could keep my eyes open, I started to look around.
The first thing I noticed was the machines, so I already knew I wasn't at home. He had taken me to the hospital. I continued to look around and turned my head to see Jaden's tattooed hand holding my own as his left hand held a phone to his ear. I could almost tell by the smile on his face that he was talking to Leela.
"Alright, Goodnight then baby, and I'll see you and Jordy in the morning."
He sent Jordan over there?
"Hey, how you feeling?" He asked as he put the phone on the side table.
"I feel fine."
"Baby, you're not fine. You passed out." He said softly.
"I didn't say I was fine I said I felt fine." I argued.
"Roxy, you can't keep doing this to yourself. You need to talk to me or someone about what's going on in your head." He pleaded.
"There's nothing going on in my head." I dismissed.
"Please baby. I don't want to see you do this to yourself. Just talk to me." He begged again.
"I can't talk to you about it because I don't know what the fuck is going on and it scares me. I am genuinely terrified because I can't control what the fuck happens in my mind anymore." I snapped at him.
"But why didn't you tell me that?" He asked as he lightly ran his fingers over my knuckles.
"Because it's stupid. And it's not fair to you."
"It's not stupid if it affects your health, but how is it unfair to me?" He asked.
"Because, she's your newborn too. Me being an emotional wreck means you'd have to deal with me and her on top of your own emotions." I explained.
"But what you need to understand is that I've already gone through this. You haven't. But it will also be different between us because I'm not the one that's just given birth. You're allowed to feel the way that you do babe." He countered.
"I just don't understand how she can be screaming and crying bloody fucking murder with me but as soon as you come along she's so silent you can hear a pin drop. Is it something I'm doing wrong?" I said as I stared up at the ceiling.
I could feel my eyes start to sting as bit down on my lip to try and stop myself from crying.
"You're not doing anything wrong. It's normal." He said as he moved so he was behind me on the bed.
"It's not fucking normal for your child to refuse to drink if her dad isn't holding her." I mumbled as I leant my head back against his chest.
"She's already starting be a daddy's girl this is great." He joked making me laugh slightly.
I reached my hands around to hold the back of his neck while his arms snaked around my waist to rest on my stomach. I started to play with the hair on the bottom of his head as he kissed my neck lightly.
"Where's my bitch?" Cassie asked as she walked into the room.
"Hello to you too Cass." I laughed as Jaden kept kissing my neck.
"From your test results, you are fine to leave. We've prescribed you with some medication that's designed to keep you from panicking. Just take one in the morning and one right before you go to bed. Try and keep yourself calm and take yourself away from stressful situations."
"Cassie, I have a four year old, a newborn, two dogs and him. I don't think I can get myself out of a stressful situation." I laughed as Jaden squeezed my waist a little tighter.
"Shut up." He mumbled into my neck.
"Well, I'm sure you'll manage just fine. You can go home when you're ready." She smiled as she left the room.
"You ready to go home baby?" Jaden asked as he ran his hands up my sides.
"I would, but that means I have to get up and get changed out of this and really can't be bothered." I laughed as he rolled his eyes and shook his head.
"For god sake." He breathed out as he stood up and walked over to the sofa.
He picked up my old clothes and walked back over to me. I smirked as he glared at me playfully.
"You're so extra. Underwear on or off?" He laughed.
"On."
"Same with your bra?"
"No."
He pulled my sweatpants up my legs and took the nurses gown off. He was going to put my shirt over my head until he actually started to examine my body. When I was breathing out, my body looked normal and healthy, but when I breathed in, you could see my ribs very clearly. He apparently didn't like that.
"You need to eat Roxy." He said as he pulled my shirt over my head.
"I have been eating. Just not enough." I said.
"That's not something to be proud of baby. We're gonna get burgers on our way back." He stated, not giving me a choice.
"But I don't like burgers." I playfully whined.
"You can get a chicken burger then because you're a weirdo." He said back to me in the same tone and voice.
"But-"
"Shut up." He laughed as he grabbed me by my chin and kissed me.
Like he said, on the way back, he stopped off at In-N-Out to buy burgers. He got a bacon cheeseburger while I got a chicken burger and onion rings instead of fries.
We drove home and sat in the living room watching movies. He laid down between my legs and rested his head on my stomach. He wrapped his arms around my waist and turned his head so he could see the tv. I ran my fingers through his hair that was getting ridiculously long now.
"You should let me cut your hair." I said as I pulled on it lightly.
"No thanks, I would like to keep it." He mumbled as he rested his chin on my stomach and looked up at me.
"No, fuck you. I'm great at doing hair thank you very much." I said as he laughed.
